Our Diecast Community - Heartwarming Gesture

I hope you are all doing as best as can be in this crazy world we are living in!
I’m a little lost for words at the moment……
This has (and still is) been a great hobby to me. We all get into it for many differing valid reasons. Something to keep you occupied in retirement, competitive fun, challenge of finding speed, father/son/wife/cousin etc making memories, track building, video production, making friends from across the world, supporting each other and so it goes…. Yep, at times there are a few that lose their way and don’t do the right thing. But overall, great and other times....... Just leaves you short of words!
So, late yesterday, Auspost arrived at my door with a parcel. Nothing unusual….
Until I got it inside, saw who sent it, I went Huh? Then I opened it……
WoW !
I read the personal letters inside, and it left me deeply touched, by the wonderful sentiments thoughtfulness, generosity of four wonderful friends, hobbyists from the USA! I shall not name them, but will individually reach out to them in the next few days and show my gratitude.
Much of the media the last few years, continually “bag out” the US as a whole. All I can say is overall is how wonderfully friendly, generous, thoughtful, helpful and giving of time you are, (and have been to me) and as an Aussie I can say that is irrespective of whether you are North or South, Blue or Red.
(And other hobbyists in diecast from other countries are very similar!)
I do believe in “What goes around, comes around” , so if you are new to the hobby, try to get involved in comments, here or on the youtube channels, for us “long termers” try to make the time to chat with newer people and encourage them on!
The same with youtube channels, many of us, do the best we can, with limited resources, what I call rustic content, can be far more entertaining, productive, and on a personal level. Many are just “one out” and having a go!
So try to give them some support, as we can all do without the “fanboy” comments we see at times. We all start from somewhere!

This community is awesome, and supportive as a whole. I see nothing but positivity in the comment sections in everybody's videos. Glad to hear this Marc!
That's awesome to hear. It's a good reminder that this hobby is pretty special with good folks, even if we do get into our own heads a little too seriously sometimes, lol. We're all just humans trying to stay entertained and entertain others.
I had a similar experience from some RLD members last year as I fought the dreaded Spam Page of Doom that plagued the site for a few months. They sent me some goodies to show appreciation for fighting the good fight and keeping RLD online...totally not necessary but it said a lot and it meant a lot. As someone that doesn't race or even host anymore, it was heart warming to know people do see there's a person back there throwing all the switches and turning the dials. I've watched this hobby grow over the last 17 years or so and it never ceases to make me proud and smile.
- It really does help, especially when we all at times have ups n downs. There is a great core of people, still hard to understand why it's not more, but we keep trying. Cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D
That amazing it really excited for me when I see how happy people get in this hobby, And that makes makes me more entrige to put in more into this hobby although I am now setting up thing. Sometimes I really want to give up but the comments and topics our friends and family bring up into this community make me moving. This community is unique and I see everyone in the community as families despite we are from different places and different skin colour but we are one people. Thank you all for your efforts.

I have also been on the receiving end of many generous gifts during my time in this hobby. I am always stunned when someone is willing to "give" without any expectations, especially when its a casting that is known to be "valuable" to racers. Parting with something known to be fast is like handing someone a lottery scratch ticket that you know is a winner, but you don't know how much it's worth untill the receiver cashes it in :)
Great story, and I can align with your sentiments too, as I'm also an Aussie, now living in New York.... and from what I've experienced so far with this group of like minded enthusiasts, is far beyond awesome. It's been a fun experience for me!
