NASCAR JLH Krafts Truck Racing Series Race Day: Round 1: Martinsville 2020

Martinsville: Testing the Boundaries!

**Updated 25/12/20

A testing track for the teams and constructors to face in race one of the JLH Kraft Truck Series on sub4ra channel!

Is it a true test of how the Series may pan out?

For me, I'm not sure that all the gems were built to shine on this tight two lanes layout, however, we certainly saw some prime cream rise and take out the event. Congratulations, Dragon Claw Racing, driver Karlee K, and constructor Frank Kline. They just dominated this event!

Many great builds were hampered in either qualifying, the heats, or the main race, and I believe many will breathe fire into their campaign as the tracks open up.

For many, "It ain't all over yet!"

But back to this race, starting at the heats:

Group 1: Karlee K, way to go, cleaned out on every race so no one could cause any interference to her progress! So the fight was on for second, with Capt. Tony getting over the top of Gina Trickle! Jimmy Hoffa, was quick enough, but the casting continually got caught up on the outside lane, exit of turn two. Kit Kayem and Johnny Ironfire also feeling the pinch on the turns, with Kit eventually ending up just on his side crashing out in turn two.

Group 2: The only group where the Pole sitter got dusted! Lap one and Stu Padasso got loose out of turn one, ran the rail, and over he went. The Hoon (Harry Hoon) took advantage and jumped to lead. Deuce and Lil J Dub, duelled it for the No.2 spot, Deuce pushed through in the end! Poor Lil Bit ended on it's roof, while Miscreance gave a lot of assistance to the cars in front, but in doing so, sapped it's drive through turn 2 and got little reward. The underdog, Harry Hoon taking out the group.

Group 3: Again the lead car, Stella Beans, dominated from start to finish. Rooster and Lucky Jackson exchanged blows in the fight for second. Last lap, Lucky was unlucky and got derailed, then assisted off the track in turn two. Sloppy Joe got up for third, Finn Theodore forth. Ah Ninja, was a first lap wipe-out.

Group 4: The lead car, James Klemen almost wiped out on lap three, coming off the lane, to be saved by Gator McKluskey who assisted him back into the lane. Sadly on lap four, no one returned that favour to Gator, instead Jack Crow wiped him and himself out. Mr Pibbs had corner issues and ended up on his side on lap two. Danny Wells did well and came up into third.

Group 5: Tony Klemen, the lead car, dominated. The Bug Assassin's hopes got squashed on lap three. Khloe K battled Keith Stone for second. The latter proving too smooth on the day!Irish Kevin and Peety Trickle tried hard but couldn't get going on this tough track.

Group 6: Maxilla, the Killa. A Start to finish win. This group saw plenty of action! CJ Rundle's truck ended up sitting up with the tailgate on the ground, grill facing the sky!  Huh?! Coffee Tart, derailed lap 3 and was over! Amber Beach lap four, bang! On it's side! Skeeter Davis came second, El Jefe third.

Heat Seconds Race Off: Winner to the final, grid positions based on qualifying times. Two laps! Let’s go!

Deuce from pole position, aced it! Lap one Skeeter Davis got loose, changed lanes and got rolled over. This allowed Rex Wankel to fly into second position, while all the other cars were banked up behind the crashed Skeeter car!! The last lap, and Rex held off Capt. Tony and the Rooster. Smooth Keith Stone ran out of gas after pushing others.

Main Event: Karlee K creamed the others, but there was much action back in the pack! A Wild ride! Coming from seventh, Deuce came thru for second, just shading Harry Hoon, who started sixth. James Klemen  and Stella Beans, had a tough final, both finishing well below their start position.

Many thanks to all the sponsors of this event!
