Rice Bag Stop Box
I tested out Preachers process on using rice in a baggie today. Worked most excellently!
I bought a 1lb bag, but it only covered 5 lanes of the 6 lane track. So I transferred it to a gallon size baggie. After folding the bag over to be about the same size as the original bag - I removing the air and sealed it. I then wrapped it in a microfiber towel and laid it across all six lanes. As such, it has about a 1/2 inch overlap to the outsides track. The best part is I get no kick back at all!

Well I didn't make one but Clayfeat, being a professional seamstress, did make one and it works beautifully. Thanks Milton great idea.
Glad it worked for you as well, but we have to give Preacher the credit for the original ideal!
For those of you with stop boxes - a smaller bag (snack or pint sizes) may help out in keeping the bouncing around minimal. The energy dispersion Stroller notes - just stops them dead on the track!

Good work both of you...
Hello,
I'm new member of Red Line Derby from Indonesia. I'm interested in Rice Bag Stop Box. Could you share the picture, please?
Thanks in advance.
Ok, Aji this is what my wife made for me.

It weighs 3 pounds and stops cars without any damage. Each square on the green cutting board is one inch. I just lay it over the last few inches of the track........Stroller
Sooooooo, I should rethink screwing extra door stop springs to the baseboard then?? I stretched them out and everything, hopeing they would return the cars to me....( just kidding. :)...). I'll be using rice bags for sure. Orrrrrr maybe a couple beanie babies. Already covered with soft material..... And depending on which way you face them on the track.....could be hilarious....OK, I'll stop there. ( pun intended)
That is a version of energy dispersion. It's kind of like the way air bags work and the way water barriers on the highway stop runaway cars. Good idea I may have to make one.....
