RLD Racing Season Premise

LeagueofSpeed Saturday, 6/29/2019

So, I've had this idea bouncing around my head...what about a Racing Season??? We have at least 12 tracks here in the RLD family...I could/would supply 3...so once a month for the year...someone host a race...we keep points and we have a end of the year RLD 2020 Season Champion.

To make it different than our summer series...racers send in 1 car...Stock or Mod each month to the host track...and it must be a different car each month with one rip n race on the calender as well.

Thoughts please and input!!!

Really cool idea! I've been wanting to start up Redline National League #2 at some point, just haven't had the motivation to commit to another video series!

  • You could host once this way and be done video wise with one race — LeagueofSpeed
  • Yeah, RNL was a long time ago but it was a similar concept to this but at only one track. It would be really cool to have a few more tracks involved when I get that going again! — WorpeX
  • As an EC here...I'll help you do what you have envisoned — LeagueofSpeed

Some basic ground rules...to race one must be a member of RLD and to host...your track must be in the directory

The Lady of Speed has suggested it be kept at Stocks only...thoughts???

  • ...as witnessed at D64 Open Stock...plenty of stock speed out there to be found — LeagueofSpeed
  • Just my .02, I'd like to see this happen. But I was thinking shorten the "season" a bit (12 races over 12 months is A LOT) and make it modified racing. Or you could hold 12 races if desired, but only count say 8 of those races, you could use your top 8 finishes. That would allow folks who cant make 12 races to still be competitive. Of course the number of races could always be adjusted. Either way Id be in for some mod racing. I'm new to this site and this type of racing, so im just thinking out loud here. — Go_Time
  • I disagree. I think the most fun in these mail-in tournaments is seeing what others put together and then seeing how they perform. Stocks are great for beginners or those unable to mod, but the real fun is in modding. — WorpeX
  • yeah...it will most likely be mixed fields...still plenty of fast stocks out there that can hold there own with mods...plus you can't race the same car again in the season. — LeagueofSpeed

...I think 1 race a month is do'able...D64 has 4 races a month for 11 months straight...and he handles it all...we're talking about 1 race a month and 12 different tracks....Mustang Summer will be 12 races in 3 1/2 months...so the purposed RLD Racing Season is light compared to the likes of D64 or DCRL.

Some basic rules as we move forward

Open Fields each race

Modified 57g

Stocks 65g

...racers can only race a particular car once during the season ...this will eliminate ringers Stock and Mods

...also, Wife's...Daughter's and Son's will be and are an extension of one single RLD membership

I like this idea. I'll host a July race.

I suggest stock amd mod divisions so somebody who doesn't have time to build a car can still be competitive.

  • Open Field...that's why Mods cap at 57g and Stock at 65g...watch Diecast64 Open Stock...Stock speed is attainable — LeagueofSpeed
