Runsible caution
Just an FYI today on my runnable, I decided to try the batteries and put in two AAA's. The resulting motor performance was rather pathetic as they barely spun and after a little fiddling, I decided to pull the batteries out. Well, they were hotter than hell which is never a good sign when you're dealing with batteries. So I don't know if this is a electrical foul up in their design or something else. I will try to send them an email this evening sometime

I received back a brief response, telling me that the runsible requires high energy, alkaline batteries. Unfortunately, the batteries I used no longer have the main packaging. They are Energizer Max batteries. I'm not sure if those are actually high energy. So FYI as mentioned
Admittedly out of my depth, the company might not have set things up for larger AA batteries for looks but the function could have done well with the higher amperage of even average cells of that size? Good heads up for all who own these units!
- Hey Chris - Yes I’m sure the electrical engineer(s) wanted AA batteries but that could have forced a size increase of the PCB etc. and that’s a $$ increase. Triple A batts are small enough to actually sit under a car rolling on the rollers. And then there are the marketing folks with their issues and desired features. Frankly I think their board layout could have been better. — AbbyNormal

Interesting, I've only been using AAA batteries since I received mine and it seems to be fine. I'll have to try plugging it in to see if it's any different.
