Seven Sins of Diecast?

Ahoy, all!
Just kickstarting a discussion of the not-so-nice behaviours seen online or at the pegs. A lightly edited first draft, not married to this ranking. Let me know how you'd change it!
1 Hoarders. You don't need 10 of the same colourway of a casting to just sit on them and do literally nothing more with them. Trade, Customise. Gift. . .something!
2 Aggressive Shoppers. Be courteous to your fellow collectors. Wait your turn if you're not first, don't block kids
3 Card Benders. I'll buy a damaged card for myself, but I'll open anything I buy. Others feel differently
4 Scalpers. Chase diecast for its own end, not primarily for any dollar value you think is attached to it
5 Thieves. Nuff said. Those who stash finds for later retrieval are really close to this level of shenanigans
6 Repackers. Pulling a switcheroo and then returning false product to the store so you can get a "free" car. Find another hobby
7 People who are unkind to employees. Be respectful, it pays dividends. Don't make their jobs harder (this is where Satan awaits you in his frozen lake)
Discussion
Be friendly.
Always ask kids or adults, do you collect, or play with them,
the look on the kids (and parents) face when you say, I play too,
tell them about your track, etc,
say you build and race pro,
the kids are WHAT??? PRO?
(remember many of them dream of being a pro gamer)
I've suggested better cars for them, too.
(you get some interesting looks outta the soccer moms, too being nice to her kids)
We are Representitives of our Sport, so we should promote it.
(Honestly, I have business cards, lol, pro racer/hobby consultant, and need to do the backs with the channels I am racing at currently)
Quite a number of people at my local Ace hardware, now watch diecast racing.
I mail out of my local Ace, and never worry about my package, they will make sure it goes out.
the USPS girl today wrote down bent rod racing 'cause thats what I mailed today
I love this sport, and the whole community that surrounds it!
cheers,
dr
Forgot about those who speak in the theatre...there's a special level of hell for them folks...
- Ahhh a fellow Browncoat!! I look to be bored by plenty more o' your sermons yet, Shepherd! — Chris_Hood
- My days of not takin' ya seriously have certainly come to a middle — Chris_Hood
Sportsmanship: Virtual or otherwise, competition among adults can sometimes bring out a less desirable side of people. Always keep things in perspective...we're grown adults playing with children's toys. If/when you're race entry loses, be thankful for the opportunity and accept defeat with grace. In the end, the rolling toys do the talking, it was never personal, and any little eyes and ears will be on you.
- Well put Gspeed. This is a fun game, I enjoy it. — alva1370
- 100% Thankfully I can count on one hand over the years the racers who take themselves too seriously — Chris_Hood
What’s wrong with this picture? This is what’s concerning people. I don’t bend cards, hoard or care about this casting but when the subject comes up I can understand.
- While I do keep multiple examples of potentially fast mainlines, THAT is a bit excessive. — GspeedR
- This guy is in my area, he’s not the only one. — alva1370
- 40?? There's no single casting I'd want that many of across multiple colourways. Now instead of [squints] a Lexus, imagine if that was a truly coveted mainline, the white R32 Godzilla — Chris_Hood
- Also, some folks online sure appear to be bent on posting rage bait. Can't go a week on Reddit without something similar showing up — Chris_Hood
- Certain castings, I will buy anyone I see. basically all mopars. But, with all the stores that surround me, It's a drop in the bucket. If my town had only one store or two, I might have a different opinion. and as far as the cards, kids yank them down, fight with the parent, and destroy the hanger. may I see in the loose bins are that, and won't hang on a peg anymore. So, poor parents can also be blamed on the ruined cards — dr_dodge
Old account of what I saw at a HW event at Target. Re-reading it now, I might have gone a little overboard in my analysis BUT the gist still holds true.

Always make way for the kids, yes.
