Slow 70' chevy Chevelle FTE
I recently bought this car,in packaging as in the picture.
Took it out the packaging and its slow as anything it near on drags itself over the finish.
Does anyone know if I farm the wheels and put them on something else would they work better or do people think its the axles rather than the car itself and the new car to be fitted to would not benefit.

Some FTE castings are just poor to begin with. The white Firebird, for example. Excellent wheels (usually), but a shitty casting and often the front wheels are rubbing in the wheel wells. If nothing seems to be rubbing and the casting still seems fine, but the wheels don't spin well, then it's probably the wheels. Since it runs like crap right now, you lose nothing by taking it apart and trying the wheels on something else.

I'm thinking it's the wheels themselves. They might work better if you work on them some--polish and oil the axles, sand the wheels.
