Someone should host a rally event with unlimited spots

There are a few of us who have had no cap on entries... but dude...it's a lot of work...just ask Indiana Diecast

My NASCAR series does have a cap on spots per builder, but its pretty big (4 cars per team) but no cap on how many teams. I'll be announcing the 2026 season rules package later in the season. 

[cries in Bathurst Diecast Racing's first international tourney] Man, did that event just keep growing, kudos -- all the kudos -- to him for soldiering on in that. That escalated QUICKLY but the host kept surfing atop that wave of enthusiasm

My hat's off to anyone who'll throw open the doors wide and go so far as to have a "Group B" established after quals are done, just so everyone gets a chance. Every host has their limits

Hey, I totally have that special spot in my heart too for anything rally in this scene. Just like running pickup trucks, it's great to give the spotlight to possibly a lesser prominent subgenre in racing

my approach on goat hill is limit the field,

but every car races every show, for all 10 races

no one gets a one and done/dnf qualify

at 24 cars thats 12 heats.  each heat has 3-4 vids to edit, special titles, shots,

and keeping track of the points.  it takes a lot of work to do a show.

I am starting my first mail in very soon,

and just the organization as cars come in, and space for them has to be thought out well.

There's a lot more going on behind the scenes besides just racing cars.

The logistics of having unlimited entries is a nightmare for hosts. A host with a job, a family (and all that goes with that), and other activities simply doesn't have the time to do a timely race. I've seen races last for a year with unlimited entries. It's just not feasible for most.

That said, keep an eye on the site each day and, just as importantly, make friends with other people in the hobby. One of the best sources is friending certain people on Facebook. R-Lo does an amazing job of posting every race as soon as it comes out. 

Rally races are some of the best out there, but it sure is a lot of work for the host.
