Space inside HW Retro-Active?

Just wondering if anyone has taken one of these apart, and if the AAA battery piece on the rear is hollow?
I picked one up recently and noted it's long wheelbase (about 53-54mm), tall wheels, and possible potential for rear end weight and thought "hmmm...."

Hmm...I think I just found my steampunk champion. That battery can become a boiler with almost no work...and all that lovely rivet detail...
Not sure why I tossed it back in the bin the other day...must've been the orange wheels on the current model, and me not having many donors for wheels yet...hmm...

I have one but haven't messed with it yet. I like to have a few of the same casting before I mod it. That way I have spare wheels or parts in case something goes wrong.
It has potential.
