I just picked up an American Flyer train on ebay. They were built until the '60's and they are 1/64 scale.

I currently have it all apart and I'm going to try to get it running...it has a really cool mechanism for blowing smoke...it is a gear driven piston...cool stuff.

Fun stuff!

Cool Engine!!The great thing about these ol' girls is that most of the time they just need what you are doing.Taken apart, cleaned, adjusted ,lubed and then run. They are great smokers, kinda like the ol' Marx engines.

Good luck..

Cool find C10...

I bought an old metal electric drill, so old it doesn't use a chuck key...uses 2 pair of pliers ... or one pair and  a spanner wrench or belt... I think someone oiled it with the old Lionel train "smoke making oil"... close your eyes, pull the trigger, and you can smell that old train of your childhood...

the tag...

  • I have an old vibrating sander that was my grandfathers...same kinda deal! — 72_Chevy_C10
