The many resources here
I just wanted to point out what a great resource this site is. From the articles that have been written, to the many discussion had on various aspects, to the videos that some are capable of making to show how things get done.
Thank you all for doing what you do!
I have been here only a shy 3 months, yet I have already built a test track (85% complete), found local deals twice to buy old packaged hot wheel collections for 33 cents each, and I managed to finally clean my garage/mancave to make room for a new hobby. And then of course, I have now finished one race event (stock), and now am getting ready to enter 3 future events over the coming months; for which RacerGnome will start to be seen at other tracks. I hope to see you all in the future at these race events.
And to the countless articles, discusions, and videos I have seen; well, there have never been a better group of people showing their abilities, how-to's, and general help to newbies just starting to learn. I may not have decided on die cast racing if I didn't find this site. I am greatful this site exists.
With all my 'extras' sitting around, it is nice to utilize these things into my new hobby. If it wasn't for this hobby, I wouldn't have even know I still had a Dremel tool tucked away in the shop. :-)
As someone with COPD and have to be on oxygen 24/7, I don't get out much, nor can I do any major exertion of energy. This is where MamaGnome comes into help me to build. Anytime I get a hobby over the past 40 years, she has been there with me. Including this one, she is going to help with painting, track officiating, and anything else that we do in the future. The plan is to be able to hold an event here one day. Until then, we build, we race, as we learn the ropes.

Thanks for the kind words, RG, I appreciate it and am glad you've found a fun spot to hang out on online...which seems to be more rare these days than ever. And very true that the folks that call this place a Home have made it was it is. I might be the landlord here but the many articles, videos, and knowledge comes from the greater good of people willing to share and inspire.
And the archive is indeed quite deep, 15 years worth of deep even. Given the nature of message boards, a lot can get buried but I've tried my best to at least tag things so folks can browse the past based on the specific topics they're looking up.
I must also say, new arrivals like yourself that are eager to learn, build, and share is what keeps me motivated to keep RLD up and running. So thank YOU for contributing and continuing to make this place a fun resource for everyone.
So true, as I'm a child of the archives buried in and around this place, as the Music from the Elders has been very informative and tutorial in mass for me personally.
