The Tungsten Tax 200 Race!
The Tungsten Tax 200 Race!
Hey guys! I can’t wait to host a new race coming up ASAP.
I’ve been thinking a lot about tungsten lately. I mean… I love tungsten. My wedding ring is tungsten. Strong. Durable. Practically indestructible. It just got me thinking — how cool would it be to host an entirely tungsten-themed race?
Just imagine it. Dense builds. Heavy hitters. Pure metallic glory.
And to be absolutely clear… this has nothing to do with the current inflation or the rising cost of tungsten. Not at all. No correlation whatsoever. Completely unrelated timing.

Hell yeah I am in
- Always can count on BADDAD! lol — ABC_Allred_Family
- Just got a lot of tungsten fishing weights for cheap guess I am good fishing — Baddad
What's the conversion for Canadian Tungsten to American Tungsten?
- You should be able to tell by the accent! — Road_Runner_Rumble
- About 1.3 American Tungsten per Canadian Tungsten… but you lose 10% at the border in tariffs. So don’t feel sorry adding more for to compensate for the difference. — ABC_Allred_Family
I don't think I have a car that would be fast enough. Is it ok if I just send you a couple baggies of tungsten to attach to some loaners?
I can send two in for this one, sounds like fun. However as I probably posted before, I live in a rural area and don't have a lot of stores like the big cities. We only have the dark plastic bags locally.
According to your rules, we have to use a 'clear' plastic bag. :-(
Can we use dark plastic bags if we can't find any clear plastic bags in time for the race? If not, can I use plastic wrap and 'create' a bag that would suffice? IE: Does it have to be a bag and would a plastic wrap encasement act as the 'container'?
- Hahahaha!! Small town problems! I totally get those! I think since you’ve contracted the race host directly I can allow that exception. Plus you are legend on my track. Do you have any gnomes made of tungsten?!! That right there would be 80g easy. Help you reach the minimum 100g weight easy. — ABC_Allred_Family
Sure, I'll send you a few cars full of tungsten that you get to keep...
- Correction…loose tungsten! I don’t want to be spending any time chiseling JB weld off of that beautiful precious metal. — ABC_Allred_Family
- I could send the local Gnome Miner's Guild down for a week to pitch in and help if needed. — RacerGnome
Max tungsten and no return returns? Not to mention, it can't be glued TO the car and has to be contained inside of a plastic bag. Why does this feel like a way of acquiring free tungsten without having to go through the pain of removing it from each car? That's gonna be a no from me dawg
- Hahaha! You can still paint it the epic R-Lo colors! Lol!! Your post the other day inspired the idea behind this fake race. Sucks the prices are going up so high! . — ABC_Allred_Family
- Ok. Just read the last sentence. I’m an idiot… Carry one — RLoRacing
As I read the rules for any race here on Redline, I'm silently either going Yes-Yes-Yes! Or maybe it's Yes - well maybe - hmmm - ok? And sometimes it's No - Nope - oh hell no! And then there are race rules that make me recall a character from the '90s show In Living Color ...... Homie the clown don't play that game.
I was at Homie don't play that game when I was half way through the rules --- Nicely played Allred, nicely played
I started reading this, and the VERY first thing that went through my mind was, "100g MINIMUM??? He better make sure those corners are welded together ....."
All set and ready to roll!!!
Thats 800g of racing machine!
(Had to use four axles, two were bending ....)

oooo... can I send two?
