Tungsten Prices DOUBLE
I just went to re-order some weights and noticed that prices have doubled. There is a global shortage and demand and all sorts of other geopolitical stuff that interferes with our fun. Time to get creative. Car returns will be more important than ever now.

Bought some late last year... was $20 for 4 ounces plus shipping. Now $40 plus shipping... Probably won't be buying again. I send my return cars to my great neice and nephew and seldom remove the weight. I guess that will have to change. I still generally prefer woods metal or lead sheet for complex builds but the tungsten blocks are easy to place in the right cars.

- I use a lot of brass in my building, the flat thick strips help to "coarse in weight and is not too$$. solder some crappy solder on it for more weight, too — dr_dodge

Right now I'm good with tungsten! I used to build and race pinewood derby from 2012 to 2019 so I do have a shit ton of tungsten.

Consider going to your local car mechanic and asking for old tyre weights, see if you can buy in bulk. Back when I was reloading my own rounds, I'd do that, big ol' ~20L bucket only set me back a tenner. Granted, that was also ten years ago...
Oh, uh... 5 gallons, and uh, about $20 (in Freedom Fractions, and accounting for inflation).
Also keep in mind they're not all lead, some use zinc and other metals. Just a thought! Oh! Fishing weights might work decent as well! I used to use thoughts doing Pinewood Derby.
All that said, I'm just now (as in the past 48 hours) starting in Dicast, so I've no clue what'll work and what won't, so take my advice with a grain of salt a wedge of lime and a shot of tequila.
Going to have a large sale of tungsten in the next few months for half of what it costs online. I have to farm it from over 250 builds in my racing career so it will take some time but it will be enough for any racer to run mods for years.
