This one's all-metal and seems solid. It's fresh out of the package and hasn't been raced yet. I think it will be one of the fastest of the group, but you never know. We'll find out soon enough!

I have that one and is 0-3 in its races and losing against cars that arent very good. It rolls fine and everything, I think I just have a dud as it should be faster. None of my Caminos do well for me.

Well put...I think anyone that has rolled more than 1 car down a track can associate with that statement.

I believe that the randomness much more than $1.xx ea. if we expected our little cars to be 'factory tuned' & 'test driven'...wouldn't we?

So, how about this idea...many of these newer mainlines have 'production codes' printed on the chassis. Would it be possible to include the whatever codes are found on the bottom of each car? At the very least, it might provide some good comparative info for the future.

That's a really good idea. I'll check each FTE car for those ID numbers and add the info with the car's picture.

*I think I may have time Sunday to race and rank the 16 FTEs. Fun!!!

Only half of the FTEs I have running have codes on them. I guess the other half were produced prior to the addition of 'production codes'. It will be interesting to see how the newer FTEs (w/ codes) fare against the older ones. I think it was Iowastockars that mentioned something about the earlier FTEs being banned from his club competition because they were just too fast.
Anyway, I've added the codes that I found.

I picked up that ElCamino at the used toy store and didn't notice it had a metal base. It's a partial because the grille, bumpers, side panels are plastic but the center section of the base in metal. Very weird

Yea, there are a few other cars with that similar design....the 'Flight `03' immediately comes to mind.

Here's the track I'm racing on. It's a two lane, 25 foot seamless track with a 3 1/2 foot drop.

Interesting to see how the FTEs faired against each other!
Thanks for all the effort you've put into this.
