So the idea is we submit cars at whatever weight class we care to do and then it's put in race against other cars in the same weight class. So you never know just how many racers will be in each race. That sounds interesting to me............That is right isn't it?

Thats Right. You might have a race with 30 cars, and then the next race might only have 5 cars, and the next 20. The thing we have to work on is registering the cars before the race in their various classes...making it as smooth and stress free as possible. It will probably take 3 people to do this...I don't want this to be a headache for anyone. But maybe in the beginning we should only try 3 weight classes and see just how much time it takes to weigh and register the cars. The main problem we are facing is limited time race. From start to finish we have about one hour and forty five minutes to do the race. We will just take it one step at a time, and see how it goes. I honestly believe this is the best way to even up the playing field.

If you wanted to go super fast as a test the first time maybe you could just do to classes.

Something like above or below 35 grams.

Lightweight

For a league race (a race held in one day at a club function where there is a lot of help) this would work.
IMO only one class should be raced in a series (where there are multiple hosts usually running the races by themselves).

For our first race on Sunday using this method of "Weighing the Cars" and racing in "Weight Classes" we are only going to start out with three weight classes. After talking this over with another member, we thought it best to start off with a simple weight groupings, and see how it works...don't want to burden any of the workers, and racers. Hopefully this will help in making the races tighter, and give some of the lighter cars a fighting chance at winning against the heaver cars.
