What’s with this Datsun 240Z chassis?

Why does it have that post at the front left corner? Would that tiny bit of weight on one side make the car perform unevenly? Should I remove it?

I usually remove them with the Dremel and a cutting disc.

weight for one thing and usually a post for propping something interior/windshield wise most the time...usually it's for weight and sometimes HW can't put it in the middle. — LeagueofSpeed

That post is probably a sprue...how the metal was injected into the mold. As long as it isn't supporting anything, you can remove it

I was hoping that’s all it is. It supports nothing. It’s just weird that I don’t remember seeing anything like it lately. If I had my lost box from 2004 that was filled with stripped bodies and chassis’s, maybe I’d see more similar examples. Man, I wish I knew what happened to that box. — Jav74
