XR Four Seasons Rally Mini Tournament [FULL]
Friday, December 13th, 2024Please read this in full before signing up, as spaces are limited and the format and cars are a little different.
Hosted on our brand new Four Seasons Rally track, teams will go head to head with each other through a series of rally races and obstacle race challenges. Points will be scored based on how many checkpoints are passed, with bonus points awarded to the vehicle that crosses the finish line first.
Each team will have up to three vehicles in total (minimum 2), with the option to swap cars in/out of the 'pit' after each race event. All teams will partake in a minimum of three race events/videos!
Teams are encouraged to have fun and think outside of the box with the designs, attaching items to vehicles for the obstacle races to help shunt obstacles out the way.
In the first three groups/events, teams will take it in turns to go head to head with the other teams, accumulating points over the tournament.
OUR TRACK IS BASED IN THE UK but we are accepting international entries.
- Entry fee - $10 or £10 per team (either currency is fine). Please ensure you enclose with your vehicles. This covers the cost of printing team decals for the pit areas and goes towards our production costs.
- Note that shipping from the US and overseas can be expensive. The average price I saw on cars from the US on my last track tournaments was $20. Please keep this in mind when deciding if you will enter
- Customs - ensure you do not enter a value of more than $15. Hot Wheels cars are around $3 each, so we would recommend entering $9. A value of higher than $15 could result in UK customs import charges being applied, which we cannot be responsible for. This will definitely not happen if you enter a value of less than $15.
- Read the restrictions carefully, as you must provide two different types of vehicle

Rules & restrictions
- Only modified entries allowed
- 80g maximum weight
- 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
- 2-3 cars per team. One team per household
- Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.

- Vehicles allocated for the obstacle races must either be a van, truck, pick-up, off road style vehicle AND/OR a vehicle that has been modified with objects attached to help shunt obstacles out of the way. See pic above for inspiration
- No fantasy vehicles
- Vehicles allocated for the regular rally race can be any vehicle that is not a fantasy vehicle
- Minimum 1 vehicle to be submitted for the rally races and minimum 1 vehicle to be submitted in addition for the obstacles races. If a third vehicle is submitted you must confirm whether it will go the 'Pit' to start with, or whether it will share the rally races or obstacle races with the other vehicle
- If you wish to swap a vehicle in/out of the pit after a race event (typically if it underperforms) you must message me on Redline within 24 hours of the YouTube video being uploaded
Dates & deadlines
All entries must be received by the host before Friday, 11/1/2024. Racing is scheduled for late November. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.
How to enter
Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry. Cars must arrive with us by 31st October. Ensure you allow for international shipping time.
Entry fee - $10 / £10 per team. Please ensure you enclose with your vehicles to take part.
If you would like your vehicles returned, please contact me after the tournament. You must provide a fully pre-paid postage label via email. We are unable to accept cash for postage for tax reasons, and with variable international shipping costs.
Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry
Track
- Spool heads track starting as two lanes for roughly 20-22ft with a jump into 99MM open track for second half. Features multiple 90 degree and 180 degree turns in both open and two lane track.
Vehicles will be tested with the jump, and if many are failing to make it, it will be removed before the tournament starts and replaced with a merger lane between two lane and open track.
This is a brand new track and it is still being optimised.
Race format and scoring
This is a team based tournament, with teams going head to head with every other team in the tournament. Teams will accumulate points over the tournament. After each team has gone head to head with all other teams (three race events/videos), the two teams with the most points will go to the final.
Rally Race Points
- 1 point per checkpoint crossed
- 1 point for crossing the finish line
- 3 points for first place finish
Obstacle Race Points
- 2 points per checkpoint crossed
- 2 points for first place finish
In the final, the winner will be the team that scores the most points in the final.
Penalties/DNF
Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
Cars leaking fluids will not be able to take part as this will ruin the coloured sections of tracks.
Prizes
Winning team logo will be displayed on a billboard on the track during the next tournament.

Discussion
I would like to send 2 one for obsticle and one for regular ralley
In for one of each please!
Count me in please. This will be fun.
I think I'll get in on this. Can the 2 cars I already have there be used for the rally race? That way I only have to build and send 1 for the obstacles?
- Great. I'll fit you in, and yes they can. I'll send them round the track today and make sure they are still running fresh. Will let you know later — XR_Diecast_Racing
- Both cars I have from you fly round the track! So you just need one for the obstacle race. — XR_Diecast_Racing
- Awesome! Thanks — ChaseFamilyRacing
And we're full! I'll be sending round an info sheet summarising the build requirements and postage details to those taking part. If you missed out on a space I have something big planned next, but want to get a couple smaller tournaments done first to demonstrate and iron out the new format.
Woohoo! Very excited to be in. Thank you!
I have messaged everyone taking part the submission details. I have put together a PDF that explains the format, build requirements with examples, and unseen pictures of the finished track so you can see the layout. You can't send files on Redline so please reply to my message with your email address if you'd like a copy.
Full video of the new track here to help with your builds! The jump would be where the merger lane from 2 lane to open track by Checkpoint 2 is. Will test the jump with the cars once they are all in and decide whether to keep it in or possibly just use it for the obstacle race which will be carnage anyway!
First couple of teams have arrived from the UK and US. I will message everyone when they arrive and also update the team list above.
Awesome submissions so far from Oregon Outcast and Ram Raid!
Will post more pictures of teams coming in on our Facebook page and Instagram. Make sure you follow/like to see behing the scenes pictures of the tournament.

If you are posting from overseas please remember to read my notes about customs declarations.
Hey everyone,
A couple more teams to check in to the UK, with most coming from the US.
The tournament should kick start in the next couple of weeks, I am making some changes to the diorama in place of the Halloween village that has come down now. The videos will then go up every 2 weeks on a Friday.
We may only have 4 teams, not 5. If that is the case how would people feel about this being a four car race tournament instead of two? This would mean in the first two videos, all teams take part in 2 races per video, and one obstacle race per video (meaning each team goes head to head with 2 of the other 3 teams for obstacle races, not all. In the rally race, all teams take part anyway).
Week 1:
Rally Race: 4 cars (all teams), 2 laps (changing vehicle positions)
Obstacle Race: 2 cars (two teams), 2 laps x 2
Week 2:
Rally Race: 4 cars (all teams), 2 laps (changing vehicle positions - all teams will now have started in all 4 different starting positions)
Obstacle Race: 2 cars (two teams), 2 laps x 2
Week 3:
FINAL - 2 teams, 2 rally laps, 2 obstacle laps
I won't switch it up without everyone being happy with that. If anyone objects, we will stick to the format I used for the Halloween tournament.
On the way.
I have been following your track build on youtube and what you have done is simply amazing! I would love to send you some cars to support your channel but I am simply covered up right now and you would probably prefer some solid racers instead of this noob! lol
Count me in for certain on your next event and good luck with this one!
