Yeah, We Race and Win!

Saturday was the final race of the 10 race season for our league, where you earn points as the season goes along. There are 7 divisions that award trophies. We can only enter six of the divisions (the other is a rookie class), and we came home with 6 points championships. Fourteen total trophies. Of these, we earned four car of the year trophies, which goes to the fastest car that was entered all season long in that class. If you win during the month, they keep your car.

The family is very prond of their trophies. Only Dad, didn't earn any! But I always call my cars the R&D Team (Research and Devolpment). I find cars that we haven't tried before, to make them available to the boys if they look good on the league track.

Car of the Year-Silver Bullett/Coby (Two years in a row without a loss on the league track)

4th Place-My Wife (2 wins over the last two months)=4th place trophy
Car of the Year-Hot Wheels Camera Car/Cade

The strange thing that happened is that Camera Car has never lost on my track and has yet to lose on the league 50 footer. My wife has been entering one of the new Nitro DoorSlammers. It would win, but never make it to the championship race. This month, it was flying and no one was close to beating it. It then made its way all the way to the car of the year race agianst the camera car in a double elimination. First race, camera car. Second race, Nitro Doorslammer gives the Camera car its first loss ever. Third race goes go the camera car. Not sure what kicked in on this car to take it from where it was to almost winning the car of the year.

This is another interesting story. That 09 Ford F-150 has gone on some incredible streaks on my track where it cant be beat. Saturday was another day like this on the league track. It had gotten 2nd place four times. It finally won the class and then beat all of the other trucks that had beaten it to win the Car of the Year.

The car that won the car of the year for my wife, won the car of the year for the Rookies last year. It hasn't lost a race on the league track. It is amazing once it hits the straightaway. Yet, this car is only 3-2 on my much shorter track and the wheels don't spin like crazy. Has made me rethink what makes a fast car a fast car.

Car of the Year went to a Yellow Ferrari F40. It beat Cade's Shadow Jet to earn this.

In the rookies, the champion was my friends son. I didn't help them at all, they just purchased some cars and started racing with us. His wife entered a blue Never Hammer in the last week and won the Car of the Year there.
