About this track
Greetings all,
My roomate and I had just discovered diecast racing youtube channels like 3Dbotmaker and others a few months ago and a few days later I found myself buying a ton of cars and track. The sickness grew and I started plotting track designs until we had a section of the living room of our appartement cordoned off for a semi-permenant track. Now that track has been added to and I feel far enough along that I want to share and get feedback. My end goal was to have an elaborate setting that would look convincing enough for some video while also being modular enough that I could dissassemble and pack up should the need arise. I am in an apartement after all so all things must be temporary no matter how much a diecast track would add to the property value.
We started with a theme of a series of floating platforms in space hosting a track for a racing obsessed collector type android (think Brainiac). Most of our available track support material was plastic bins, a coffee table and boxes. We made the track mostly from 2 crash racers sets along with some 3d printed pieces for the start gate and finish. Held together with gaffer tape I started thinking of decoration and tried adding some pieces I made for D&D minis. Right then the theme changed to a more traditional race complex built on the ruins of a castle amongst green hills. I named it after my dog as she is intensely curious when the cars run the track and will show up in a lot of the videos. So I present to you the work in progress that is Brunhilda Hills Race Complex!
