I have figured out how to have a 6 lane tournament, using the Hot Wheels 6 Lane Super Track.

This is a drilled rivets modified race.  Enjoy.

In this tournament you may enter any car that has raced in Nascar from 1947 to today.  Exceptions, no cnmvertibles, no trucks.  You may mod the chassis but not the body, no streamlining. Hogging out wheel wells is allowable.

Number of entries?  So far 2 but maybe 3.  If there are more than 24 cars, then everyone will have to qualify either by speed or time.  I HAVE FOUND A WAY TO LET EVERYONE RACE WITH NO QUALIFYING.  EVERY ENTRY WILL GET TO RACE.

Maximum weight 57 grams,  height 1.25 inches,.  length 3.5 inches

Wheels any except skinny wheels, they just don't look appropriate.

All cars must have numbers, at least on the roof with the bottom of the numbers towards the passenger side.  Stick on numbers are okay.  Contrasting colors to the body color.

Reserve your cars number now first come first choice.

Before I forget please include $2.00 per car for a return fee.

These are just preliminary rules and are subject to change.

Also RLD may change the title if it is a problem.

Feedback and ideas welcomed.

How the race will be run:::

Firstly the number of cars will be divided by 4.  This will set the the 4 preliminary races that goes to the 2 semi-final races that lead to the final race.  As an example let's say we get 22 entries.  22 divided by equals 5 with 2 left over so the 4 prelims  will have 2 races with 5 cars and 2 races with 6 cars.  Each prelim will run for first second and third place finishes. The first car to win 2 times gets first place this car is set aside. The second to get 2 wins gets second place and this car to is set aside and the third to win twice gets 3rd place and is set aside  The cars that do not win are then set aside as BoP cars. BoP means Back of the Pack they get to run again later for points but can not get into the semis. In the semis there will be a total of 12 cars with six in each of 2 races. the 1st, second and third place cars in each race move on to the final race.  The losing cars do not race with the BoP cars they have already won their points. In this particular race 10 cars will be in the BoP so race them 2 races of 5 cars.  The first and second place wins points.   Points::  In each Prelim, Semi, and Final  First place gets 3 points. Second place gets 2 points and 3rd place gets 1 point.  In the BoP race 1st and 2nd place both get only 1 point.   The number of cars will determine how many are in each type of race and after that number is determined then we will figure that out but it seems simple enuff to me.......Stroller

Three thoughts on possible wheel restrictions:

1: plastic NASCAR wheels only (you know, like the ones that come off Hot Wheels/Racing Champions' actual NASCARs)

2:  Lettered tires only (which would include those listed above)

3:  Certainly unique--only allow treadless RUBBER tires (like the ones that they had on the old HW NASCARs--maybe make it so they have to be lettered, too)

Just some ideas to potentially make it even more NASCARish...seeing that not many NASCARs have 5-spokes or FTEs.  Not sure if I'll get in on it yet, but I've always enjoyed NASCAR racing.

  • not sure how to reply to that. Seems a bit silly. — Stroller
  • Oh, it probably isn't exactly practical; it would just look neat (and be quite unique if done w/ rubber tires). — FOTF
  • The white letter tires are only on certain cars, I happen to only own a few with them... And I have lots of cars — Traction-Event
  • Usually they're the fancier ones--or NASCARs (or both)--like the HW Classics (I think), Chase pieces, or White Lightnings. — FOTF
  • Like I said--not exactly practical, just NASCARish. — FOTF

If we have # stickers, do we put them on the car at our house  ? ...

If so and are still open, i'll slap a #98 and #99 on the Sloppies,

and the Fast Fred / Stawka team .... #96 and #97...

  • if you could number them before sending them that would be cool. — Stroller
  • done — model40fan

Familiar theme.  I think I suggested the first NASCAR race.  The Battle of the NASCAR Stars.  Glad to see the idea still alive.
