A possibly interesting show turned into complete joke by people who have little understanding of custom fabrication and creating a complex assembly of parts/pieces that end up as a super custom vehicle.

YES! I just saw the video you linked this very week. Never tuned in for the broadcast show myself once the actual format got revealed
Fantastic breakdown of how it failed every segment of the intended audience no matter how viewers approached the show
Then the truly ignominious final fate, the show syndicated on lesser-tier cable channels, MmmmmWAH, couldn't have happened to a more deserving series

Yeah...I gave it one watch and that was enough. It was a very unfortunate "slap our brand on this" show. On paper it made sense, in reality it just felt like any other Pimp My Ride show that we've seen a million times over the past 20 years.
I'm not sure if they thought they were chasing kid audience or nostalgia Car Guy audience (likely both) but there wasn't enough "toy" in it to satisfy me. If I wanted to watch a custom car get made, there's so many better shows for that.
I remember a few years ago I had a chat with a documentary guy that came asking about diecast racing, and my feedback to him for "interesting, drama-filled TV" would be to follow one of the higher profile hosts and mail-in racers...a day-in-the-life sort of thing that shows just how ridiculous and silly this hobby can be considering we're all basically a bunch of Man Childs getting serious about toy cars.
