Anyone else get this sometimes? RLD not loading

Thursday morning...I'm not convinced the slow loading of pages and the parking page are related, but they could be. I'll take slow loading pages over that parking page all day but I know a 5 second load is awful.

Tech support has left me high and dry so I'm just gonna have to try random things or end up finding some place new to run the site, which would be a bitch.

Gonna try to spend some time this weekend to look at all that I can.

The site may go up and down as I try different things to see what makes a difference. I'll post updates on the FB page if things start going offline. 

Just an FYI; it is 02:45pm PST now; but a few hours ago I was not able to just hit Refresh to get your site.  It kept bringing up the page we all have been seeing.  You might have been rebooting,, restarting, or something else; but thought you might like to know.

Caught the page twice today, at approximately the same time as RacerGnome. Seemed to work okay after that.

Well...it's Friday morning and I've had back-n-forth with tech support over the last couple nights and got a positive reponse last night:

I don't exactly trust their assessment since y'all still seeing that link page but it seems clear they've given up otherwise. I think they're trying to CYA and say "it's not our problem" even though it still is. I'm gonna keep dealing with them until I'm confident visitors are not seeing that parking page. 

Even if they think it's not happening anymore, I never got a good reason as to why it would be showing in the first place.  

Please keep replying if you get the parking page and when. The more ammo I have to show them the better.

Just a heads up that photos & images may disappear for a while...I'm testing things to see if the media manager is doing something weird that isn't helping. No photos will be deleted or anything, it's all being saved - just stopping them from loading on the website.

I think I'll slowly be whittling down site features until I see some impact...and if nothing changes then at least I'll know that. Sigh. I hate computers. 

I just turned off dynamic images, noon eastern. All you'll see is the blurry car. I think you'll notice that the site loads a lot quicker but I'm not convinced this will change the parking page that randomly loads.

Please do not upload or replace any of the images in your posts.

Your images have NOT been deleted. They are safe and sound. I just turned off displaying them to try and troubleshoot the other problem.

It's gonna stay like this for the rest of the dayt so please, please shout out if you see the parking page while these images are turned off.

Just caught the 'parked' page three times in a row while logging in. Page finally refreshed and logged in after fourth attempt.

Friday 3p, finally got some live help from tech support rather than shitty email help. it took 30 minutes of explaining and rehashing all the stuff from early in the week, but I finally got some useful information I can use to troubleshoot.

I don't have an answer or any real plan yet, lol - but it's something to go on. It may actually result in having to rebuild some of the RLD website. I was hoping to avoid such a drastic step but it may be necessary at this point. Not the outcome I wanted, trust me.

I'm gonna go ponder and plan, and see what I come up with. 

TLDR: The parking page is not solved but I have a faint lead on what's possibly causing it so I need to explore. Shit may happen.

Current state of things, lol. I was a systems admin in a past life and I really don't miss it because of stuff like this. But in many ways it still feels like black magic.

I think I've traced some of the problems to the image hosting. Due to what I can only write off as laziness, some MASSIVE images were uploaded...I mean big. Like billboard quality sizing. I thought I had some restrictions and handling for those but apparently that failed or something. Eitherway, I think the website is choking on those images when it tries to display them or resize them, which results in that parking page.

So I'm manually download all the big images and resizing them on my PC and then going to reupload them. I hope hope hope hope it helps because if it doesn't, it's kinda back to square one.
