Axle width & Wheel size guide?

kudominoktin Saturday, 1/27/2024

Hi, I am new to diecast car racing, and I just set up a crash racers/sizzler open track with my son. I've been looking into modding some of our cars, and I was wondering if anyone has some sort of guide that lists the axle width and tire size of different hotwheel car models, so I can figure out which different cars I should be buying to piece together. I have a premium hotwheel car with real rider tires (Porsche 935 - Boulevard), but it is way too slow on the track. I want to swap out the real riders for FTE wheels/axles or some other wheels that are ideal for open track, however im not sure which car's wheels & axles will definitely fit. Just wondering if anyone has a guide to match up parts or if its just trial and error?

just basicly start destroying cars for wheels
if not running competitions, some of the fantesy box sets have good wheels,

and for width issues, use stub / tube axles

I have got at least a bucket of dead donor cars, axles ruthlessly harvested,

Take your premium along to Walmart/Target/diecast store and size up the wheels with those in the cards. Don't get attached to a car because "it looks good": you are wheel farming so all carded cars are potential victims.

I've walked out with 10+ of a certain casting that has matched the wheelbase of a few premiums (Kia Stinger, Mad Splash, Mach it Go)

Wait until they're on special and just grab a heap of random cars with wheels you like and you might find that lucky "one size fits most"

Take your cars to the store. Compare wheel size and width until you find good donors. Buy an embarrassing amount of donor cars. Tell the cashier the cars are for your children or grandchildren.
