So is now the time to announce the lifetime ban of FTE's?  

FTE's won't do much unless they are prepped correctly.......which apparently TE, Jim and Carl do all the time! :D

Guys, I had a great time hosting and the video went well.(wish there was more) Fast action, and I do my best to keep up. The low and slow track makes for better/longer video, but this was about muscle and speed. Most cars were finishing the track in 2.25 2.30 seconds. That is a very competitive time this track set up. So many close races.  I thought I had some lane 2 bias on my track, until the shoot out with H&H racing then it looked like lane 1 was dominant.  I do my best to have a fair and level playing field…always improving. Maybe a better camera next time, still need to sort that out.

I am honored and excited to win this event. After my past performance in the “Builders cup light” This is a fantastic result!!! This trophy and the cars will be proudly displayed. I’ll post photos when all is said and done. DVB and JDC are tied with 10 points, shall I run them off on the same track, or change the set up to decide 4th step on the podium? 

Some serious speed out there, DVB, Nightstalker, CF, and most of all H&H…that GTO had my El Camino on the ropes. I think 24 custom racers is a good turn out, everyone had some skills putting their cars together. No DNF’s or mechanical failures.  I also hope Calvinator enjoyed watching the show with Dad. A big THANKS to JDC for putting this together, and all the racers…without you guys I’d be playing by myself in my basement…thanks for being as weird as me!

 As I’ve said before hosting is a great way to see, inspect how other racers prep their cars. I too originally went backwards in performance when trying to tune wheels and axles.  I would tinker with the axles too much to the point that I had damaged them. Sometimes less is more. Remember my 300C from factory wars? I never touched the axles or wheels…just added weight. I now use that car as a testing piece against new race cars.  As far as banning FTE’s…I’ll race however the rules as set. Race on RLD race on!!!

I was jabbing at TE for winning 44 pairs of FTE wheel sets - not serious about a ban!  Also dont think it is the cost, but the finding of them.  I know Bernies still has a few left, but not everyone can find them around the country and a lot of people dont want to deal with ebay or cl anymore.  At the toy show this past weekend I only saw 3 packaged cars that were also some of the top of line collectible versions ($$$) and no loose ones.

Received a fantastic and totally unexpected package today from traction event - the host with the most.   Not only did it include my bare muscle GTO and GTX (which I never thought I would see again - I guess there are some advantages to finishing so poorly that you don't even make the trophy!), but also a workshop car and two, count em two, haulers.  He's like the car fairy of future races.  I don't think I sent you any return postage because I didn't think would be returns on this race, so I'll get that to you this week.  Thanks again for great race video and generous prizes for people that finish tied for 10th and 12th.  I have high hopes for my Packin' Pacers in "Before and After"....but then again I always have high hopes...

Here is a little something about fte's. Go back and look at the harvest drag way track championship. Even though usually fte's are faster than any other wheels look at the wheels that Carl had on one of his cars that was very fast and beating fte's.
