This event is part of the Triplemania Weekend which also includes the Ohio Diecast Challenge, Battle of the Builders, and Downhill Diecast Drags Championship. If you're entering this race, check out the other races too because a single car may qualify for several events. And if you're entering multiple cars in multiple events, just send them all at once.
The race team at Autobody Specialists (Columbus, OH) have challenged Redline Derby to a battle for speed. Our modders versus their modders. Yeah, it's friendly, but let's show them how we do things here at RLD.
There's no bracket in this one, it's all about the clock. The fastest average team time will be declared the winner.
The winning team will claim the Battle of the Builder's Trophy for the following year until next year's battle. The person with the fastest car from each team will get prizes worth bragging about.
For those that want their entry back after the race, return shipping is FREE for this event. But if you don't need to have your car returned, please choose to have it be donated to the weekend event where it will be made available to kids looking for some free cars to enjoy.

Track is a stock Drag Track system setup running 21-feet, owned and operated by the Autobody Specialists shop team. Both cars will be released at the same time. The timing tree is not being used, nor are times recorded for this race.
Race format and scoring
This is a team vs team event. Redline Derby Racing vs Autobody Specialists Team 164.
This is a fastest time event. Cars from each team will be paired and raced. Each car will get 2 trips down the track, one in each lane. The fastest time will be logged for each car.
The fastest average team time will be declared the winner. The size of each team will be determined by which team has the fewest entries. For example, if RLD has 12 entries but the Autobody team only has 5, only the Top 5 times will be averaged for each team.
The Drag Track starting gate is notorious for not dropping 100% of the time. Every effort will be made to get your car to release fairly for both lanes. If for whatever reason your car will not release on a specific lane after several attempts, the time for the other lane will be logged.
Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not race.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will not race. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.
If a car fails to reach the finish line in both runs, that car will receive a time of 10-seconds.
