Beater Burnout Coast-to-Coast (November 17th)
That's a good looking redline Traction. Sweet find for only $6
I realize it isn't easy to find a beat up car that still has good axles, but I think everybody should be able to find one that looks worn and still rolls fairly well.
I just ran across this DEMON in a "'32 ford" jammer case...you can see where I had touched it up with a flat black [roof], and a red sharpie years ago... rolls fairly straight !
33.9 GRAMS... lower center of gravity than the '31 woody...[url=http://s1210.photobucket.com/user/model40fan/media/8%2011%20FINALS%20ROBBERS/demon94005_zps0c3d2cbe.jpg.html][/ur
bad roof insert, looks worse in hand
I was surprised at that last note--after everything I've seen on eBay and The Toy Peddler, I never thought I'd see somebody trying to better it looks in person!
I just won my racer on eBay!
I just won my racer on eBay!
Any hints? I'm interested in seeing what everyone picks.....so many cool old rides out there.
Just won this beater on eBay. If it rolls fairly well, it's gonna be my entry.
WHAT'S YOUR NO-MAD WEIGH ?... PERFECT PATINA
sweet Nomad......looks pretty straight. Flower power!
WHAT'S YOUR NO-MAD WEIGH ?... PERFECT PATINA
Won't know till it's delivered...
4 for $15 now just gotta race em
Looks like a good set of early redlines there.
***JUST A REMINDER FOR EVERYONE. Something I don't believe everyone caught: In the rules above, I asked that...
"We would not test the cars beyond a roll test for surprising results"
So go with the car that rolls the best/straightest
I think it was "wild willys" that was selling these for $4.00...careful, axles are of a very thin wire gauge... all the plastic parts are 40 years old and are brittle...
I recommend that you use this tool as an anchor and apply force against it instead of trying to twist the axle with the slotted end of the tool...[broke a python and hot heap axle learning this] ;
