Before and After Series.
If a car just stops on the track in the comparison race then it can not be timed. If it can,t be timed then that comparison race is scored as a zero point earner for that race. As for a rule change "the day before the race" It is not. It is just a reminder that if your car DNF then you lose...........Stroller
- i didn't give points to cars that DNF in the Gassers Series... — model40fan
- Well Duh !! — Stroller
The current rules have never had a provision for individual points in the comparison race heats - only a time difference! Then there are only points awarded for the top three time differences? I understand that if a car does not finish it does not get a time/speed. But why punish the other car that did finish? I am not familiar with any form of team drag racing, but every drag event I have attended or watched always gives a time for the car who finishes a run regardless of what the other car does.
What do you do if the car hits a crease or snag in the track layout and flys off the track - is that a DNF? Or a do over?
The new rule say no points will be award, but there are no points to be awarded for individual heats in the comparision race so it must logically refer to the single elimination runs then?
There was still a time difference that could have been recorded though - for the after car - if it finishes within the current rules as written below for the comparison. Now that is eliminated.
These ares the rule changes I am pointing out.
Races will be Before Cars vs Before Cars and then After Cars vs After Cars in single elimination racing. There will also be a race or should I say a comparison of each Entrants Before and After Cars. This will be one Entrants Before and After Cars competing with each other. The winner will be the Entrant whose After Car beats his Before Car for the fastest speed difference or greatest time difference. Which ever system has the particular host has. BTW if a car does not finish a heat in the comparison portion of the racing then the race team of that car gets a DNF and zero points
Scoring is one point per win in the single elimination racing .
3 points for a win in the comparison competition. 2 point of second place and 1 point for third place
Each Entrant races his cars against each other. the time or speed difference is recorded. When all the Entrants have raced then the team with the greatest difference in time or speed will win First Place. The team with the second best time or speed difference takes second place, third best of course takes third place. This placing for the comparison competition only. The races between Before Cars and the races between After Cars is a whole different thing. Each team gets points for wins in both the 2 races and the comparison competition. Highest score wins. The winner of the tournament is the one with the most total points after all venues are run.
I finally decided on the Street Creeper as my entries for this series and managed to get them mailed off a few days before the deadline - supposed to arrive on Monday! I also include my grudge match dragsters for the pink slip races against K & O's dragster builds.

- Grudge match...Sounds cool, will the results be posted? — Traction-Event
- Dang, you opened up an All Large Error! LOL — KandORacing
- Mark, how did you fix the rear axles in place? I'm having a heck of a time with mine.... — KandORacing
Not an error! There is a 3rd Street Creeper running around here with two sets of medium wheels on it now.

Did I send the dragsters to early? I thought we were racing at Strollers during this event?
I didnt take pics of the details this time, but on both dragsters I "dremmeled" a channel across the inside of the rear chassis.
Used the loctite indoor glue to hold them in place - one dab on each side of the chassis base at the axle openings with a toothpick. This allows you to position the axle and make sure it is square and non binding before it dries.
Once that is set up though, I go back and then super glue the middle part of the axle. The dried loctite keeps the super glue from wicking to the wheels.
Apart from the gasser vette this glue set up process for fixing axles in place has worked well. Havent got the gassers back yet to see what happened there though. I didnt make a channel on the vette chassis though as it still had the tab trough still in place to hold the axle.
You got it correct, we are racing at Stroller's. I'm scrambling to get mine put together! The rear axles were what tripped me up.... Can you share what those weigh in at?
Hoping to put pics up on Thursday or Friday.......Stroller.......this is the first time I saw an AMC Pacer racing....
My apology to everyone, but I have to drop out of this race. My youngest graduates high school Friday and we're having a party for him on Saturday. There has been a ton of things to do inside and outside and I just haven't had the time to work on my entry.
Mark, do you mean there is a Street Creeper like that on the pegs somewhere in your area?
- No, it is setting in lane 3 of the HW 6 lane track right now. — Milton-Fox
- Hmmmm..... Did you see any others like that in the store though? — KandORacing
As we all feared, JDC442's cars arrived today.......lol
- What do they look like? *GULP* — KandORacing
- Throw up some pics Stroller! — JDC442
- pics are coming up tomorrow..... — Stroller
- K and O you sending some soon? — Stroller
- Yes, I will send them tomorrow or the next day. I'm very sorry about the huge delay..... — KandORacing
Please withdraw my cars from this event and cancel my hosting a race event. Stroller if you will let me know how much you need to return my cars to me I will send you the money for postage.
- Forgot about the grudge match. Return the dragsters to Keith and let me know the postage for that as well. — Milton-Fox
- That is okay. Can you tell me why? If it's none of my business that's okay too. — Stroller

Since we have no control over how the unopened before cars are going to run or finish, the new rule doesn't seem fair - especially this late in the series submission. I thought that was part of the chance we were taking anyway!?! Why would you penalize a whole team for the no chance at set up/break down/crash of one of its other cars? Doesnt make any sense to me to change (add) new rules now!
