Before and After Series.
Sunday, June 15th, 2014Event rules
Each entrant must enter two cars. A Before and an After Car. Every Entrant can select the car/s he wants to run you don't all have to race the same model of car.
All cars dimensions: Height 1 1/8 inches , Length 4 inches, Width 1 1/2 inches. Must fit on standard orange track. Weight 57 grams or less.
Stock Cars: must be entered still in the original package unopened. No FTE wheels of any type are allowed on the Before Cars. Any type of Before car can be submitted, such as gassers, dragsters, fantasy, pickups, vans, Nascar, whatever.
After Cars: Must have started out as the exact same model of the Before Car. This includes having been made by the same manufacturer. Here the difference stops. All After Cars have to have had their rivets drilled out to start with as a minimum modification. FTE wheels are allowed on After Cars. Altering bodies such as chopping, channeling, slicing and hogging out wheel openings is allowed. Raising or lowering is allowed. The After Cars should be recognizable for what they started out as.
Races will be Before Cars vs Before Cars and then After Cars vs After Cars in single elimination racing. There will also be a race or should I say a comparison of each Entrants Before and After Cars. This will be one Entrants Before and After Cars competing with each other. The winner will be the Entrant whose After Car beats his Before Car for the fastest speed difference or greatest time difference. Which ever system has the particular host has. BTW if a car does not finish a heat in the comparison portion of the racing then the race team of that car gets a DNF and zero points
Scoring is one point per win in the single elimination racing .
3 points for a win in the comparison competition. 2 point of second place and 1 point for third place
Each Entrant races his cars against each other. the time or speed difference is recorded. When all the Entrants have raced then the team with the greatest difference in time or speed will win First Place. The team with the second best time or speed difference takes second place, third best of course takes third place. This placing for the comparison competition only. The races between Before Cars and the races between After Cars is a whole different thing. Each team gets points for wins in both the 2 races and the comparison competition. Highest score wins. The winner of the tournament is the one with the most total points after all venues are run.
A concise interpretation of the rules by Traction Event,: The “stock” car will run one time vs the modified car. This will yield the speed difference in the two cars. If the Modified car is faster it records a time, the car with the greatest difference ( most improvement over the stock) wins the firsts portion of this event.
The second race has just the modified cars racing head to head for wins.
The third race has just stock cars racing head to head for wins.
Traction Event got it right even though I may run races in a different order.
I'm asking that each entrant declare what car they will be running. There is no rule that two teams can not run the same car but it might be more interesting if we all ran something different.

I WILL BE GLAD TO RUN AND TIME THE BEASTS ON THE "BIG BEN" TRACK... GO STROLLER GO !
Awesome race idea! I'm currently restoring a 1982 Chevy Corvette, so maybe my entries could be the 1982 Corvette

Do you have pics of the before?
I am putting Cops and Robbers on the back burner and am going to run this tournament in June.....I will run an event using my radar gun for speed comparisons between the before and after cars. Along with double elimination racing of before vs before and after vs after cars. Smitty is going to do timed comparisons....that right Smitty?
Cops and Robbers will run, just later this year.

It's a 1/64 scale, Hot Wheels calls it the "80's Corvette", but I think it's true model year is 1982.
New rules added on the first posting by me.
Sounds like a cool challenge!
