Before and After Series.
hmmmm....
"short order cooking" ... can I enter the open top bone shaker as the stocker ?, I have more of them and like them less than the hardtop... I cut the hardtop body because it was loose in the peanut jar... duh !...
I can cut up an open top if needed...

...
double hmmmm..... what if you took a new speedometer and ran the same car down lane 1 of your set up 3 times... write down the speeds... then put the speedometer on lane 2, again run the same car 3 times... take an average of each lane's 3 passes... compare both lane's speeds...that should tell you how close your's are...
$14.99 speedo / lane tester...
...
new release hard top bone shaker = 30.0 grams... open top shaker = 36.8 grams...
I RAN THE SAME BONE SHAKER HARDTOP [30.G'S] AND AN OPEN TOP B S [36.8 G'S] DOWN A 48" TRACK AND THROUGH THE SPEEDOMETER A DOZEN TIMES... OPEN TOP = 381 TO 389 MPH...
ALL THE SPEEDS STAYED WITHIN 8 MPH...FOR EACH CAR... OPEN IS ABOUT 8 MPH FASTER...
VERY SHORT WHEELBASE FTE BONE SHAKER [56.8 G'S] WAS A CONSISTANT 80 MPH FASTER... 450 ISH, MPH...

Smitty,
Can you attach a "board" on the end of the shorty (to make it equal length to the stocker) and test again. Dont know how sensitive the sensor is but that may give a speed correction between the two cars.
Be interesting to see how a chrome (mirror) car does...
I need to get my own - to many things to do with it!!!!
I love that Shaker Smitty, I can't wait to beat everyone with it at Before & After

Incase of problems I still have my trusty radar gun....

how about a duct tape tail fin ?
The thing about shorter cars appearing to be faster is no big deal because everyone is playing under the same rules so you can all make shorter cars, but I have found that shorter cars don't race nearly as well as longer cars head to head. Choi8ces choices....
Any updates needed to the rules or are we set on this one?
BTW - The local Target has a buy one get one 50% off on all Hot Wheels products (two speedos?) through Sunday - don't know if it is nation wide or just locally!
Throwing this out there, what if the packaged car is opened up and say a wheel is stuck and won't make it down the track. How are you going to compare the differnce between the two?

The comparison race in this tournament is going to use the new Hot Wheels Speedometer rather than the radar gun that I was going to use at first. The HWS will be much easier to use than the radar gun even though the radar gun maybe more accurate......In this case it is the comparison that counts.....Thanks for listening.
