If I was to go to the store tonight...what would some of the best cars be hanging on the hook to race? Or what would be some cars you could buy today that you would like to see race? I'm thinking about something to do on the 32 ft track...very soon Talk to me, I'm listening.

That V-16 is likely a scorcher. The Retro-active and Nervehammer are super fast models but those wheels are lousy. Still worth a shot though!

And you may notice that I didn't mention the newest 'CUL8R'...as much as I like the casting, the new version has a plastic base. (Why Mattel??...why??)

It won't make much diference to me; I don't have one yet!

My suggestion would be the green BMW 2002. I got 2, 1 to mod, 1 to race. They both were faster than almost every other car I have!

I definitely agree with the Caddilac V16, mine is a screamer. As for the Retroactive, i've gotten every model of it, and although the Blue and Black ones they released this year arent as quick as the previous models its still very quick.

I also suggest,

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
07 Chevy Tahoe

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Nissan 350z
I was decently surprised when I raced this thing, the Black-out wheels usually arent very fast, but this guy was pretty fast for me!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Semi-Psycho

IMO, Hold out for a metal base version if u can. A big reason why they're good track cars is the low cG provided mainly by the metal base. Plus, the full metal versions weigh in @ 42g and they're really not too difficult to find(toy shows, flea markets).

Great choices, and I'd like to add some 2012 offerings that can still be found on the pegs:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I watched ebay and finally landed an FTE cadillac 16. I must have gotten a dud. It got smoked in the first round.

Welcome, hotrainiac!

BTW, I don't know if you got a dud because I only have a few original FTEs.

I had a really hard time getting that one. It seems that there was some guy buying up all the FTE Caddy's that came up. I had to bid at the last second to get it. Don't know if I want to try again.
