Best of three races for brackets

A suggestion came into the box today asking about switching to best 2 out of 3 for each bracket race this season. Right now I usually only do one race and only redo if there's a crash or exception to an otherwise clean run. I did best of 3 races the first season of the league and it took a while, but then again that first season was a ton of racing each week that was very overwhelming. Now that the league has been refined over a couple seasons and I have things down to a near science for running the races, I don't see any issue of doing best of 3 for races.

So the first thing is to declare that this season will feature best of 3 races for each tournament, unless there are any strong arguments against it from the pack.

But that being said, my question to everyone is if you would expect a best of 3 setup to alternate lanes or just do 3 races down the same lanes? I'm kind of partial to alternating lanes since there can sometimes be a faster lane on the track but it honestly doesn't matter to me, so I throw it up for a vote.

I run best of three at my races. Each car gets a run down each lane, if it's a tie then I do a coin toss for lane choice. It's not perfect but that's racing!

Love the best 2 of three as I have seen many times a car come back and win the final two races. Since you have the rankings, why not always put the higher ranked car in one lane for the first run. That will fix the problem of who gets one lane over the other for the 3rd race if its needed as they would return to that original lane.

Would we get to find out if it is a sweep or if it went to that third race?

LOVE the idea! Best two of three w/ lane switching. If the first two races are a split, a coin toss for lane one~ "what Jobe said".

Okey dokey, alternating lanes it is. But rather than a coin clip if the cars are tied after the first race, the car with the high higher rating will go into lane 1. The initial lane for cars is determined by the seeing process, so it's more or less random.

So if Car A (1200) starts in lane 1 and Car B (1250) starts in lane 2 and after two heats each have a win, Car B will go in lane 1 for the third and final heat. I figure it's fair to give that to the better car, as they've kind of earned it, I guess.

I'll update the official rules on the league prior to the first tournament. Thanks for your feedback on this, guys. Should make for some better racing and more accurate ratings.
