Build Journal - Multiple Tracks.

rush_racing_league Wednesday, 6/3/2026

I started on two new track projects. First one is a drag race style track. Just something I can use for quick races, testing cars and times once I get a timer. I have never been into drag racing, and starting so far behind all the big dogs, I need to get to work on what I know both for building and racing. Working on scenery, and what fits in this area.

My other track will be a fat track style drag strip, but outdoors. This will be more geared to off-road trucks and rally cars. Plus, I want to race in the elements, and hopefully get some cool video race action. This one probably won't be for mail in races, but for me to run my trucks on a crazy course made for rough racing. I truly want to race out there this winter with snow all around.
When I'm finished, I should have 4 tracks to choose from to race on.

Looking great! Have you checked out Bathurst Diecast Racing on YT yet? They're down in Australia and have the best outdoor racing!

  • Thank you bro! And yes, I have seen Bathurst on YT! They do a great show! I like their track a lot! Mine will be more of a straight shot rather than a big course like that. Who knows, maybe I’ll get creative and do more after. — rush_racing_league

Id send an off-roader to ya for an outdoor race if you did mail-ins! That would be fun! I'm kicking the can around about setting up an outdoor dragstrip myself. I have a natural hill in my backyard that could get cars rolling about 50'. Was thinking about getting a roll or two of blutrac for that.

  • You would send in a mail in for the outdoor track? I wasn’t sure if people would be into that. If I do a mail in, I’ll announce it here for sure. Also, yes, yes you should make an outdoor track, even if it’s just to get outside, or to test your car on other types of tracks. So worth it! — rush_racing_league

Great looking tracks, I like the way you think. The black track looks just right for the new XL Hot Wheels.

How long is a quarter mile in 1/43 scale? Do XL cars roll good, is it worth the effort?

  • 30 ft, 8.379 in — alva1370
  • I have some 1/43’s that’s thinking of racing. I may create a 1/43 drag strip. Maybe two fat tracks side x side and have some kind of timing system to get the winner? We’ll see what I can come up with. I do enjoy racing all sizes of diecast. — rush_racing_league

Looks like y ou got some fun stuff set up. I especially like that you have an outdoor track, although you're going to need to clean it more frequently because of birds, insects, etc.

Hey, you got a Big Wheel racer! We had an invitational halftime show on one of the channels, where we had to send in cars with those huge wheels on it. Great fun. (Look up Ironbeard Big Wheel show in the search bar.)

  • He was in it I think! — ManiacMotorsports
  • Oh, the track clean up is already apparent, bird poopie… ick! Haha Yes, I was in Jame’s Iron Beards big wheel race. First round and out. Lol — rush_racing_league

Nothing crazy, but finally got the 1st section of rock ledge scenery up. I think this will be cool to watch as the cars blur by it. Haha Having fun!

  • That's what I used too on my track. Wife gets lots of Amazon packages so I have plenty of that brown paper, lol. — JBlotner42
