Bunk Bed Board Track Times

Preacher Monday, 5/14/2012

I did some testing today, after reading some post reguarding 1/4 mile times for cars running down a 20.664 ft track. Now mind you, my track is 22.8 ft from the start box to the finish line. And the height of the start box was 4.2 ft from the floor, and sloped down 5.11 ft before making the transistion to the straightaway. I'm using Hot Wheels seamless track, fixed to my Bunk bed boards. My daughter and I ran each car multiple times to get an average time for each car, and also to make sure our timing was correct, or at least in the ballpark. Here is where I'm going to receive flack...we used a stopwatch to record our times.

1. Mazda Furai - 1.78 - 1.86
2. Red 8-zzzz - 1.73 - 1.93
3. Firebird - 1.73 - 1.79
4. Cadillac V-16 - 1.65 - 1.72
5. 69 Vet - 1.59 - 1.71

Note, each car ran in the same lane, and was tested on four different times. The times listed are the best and and slowest each car posted...so you get the average. Here's a pic of the cars

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

20.664 ft? I didn't know they made micrometers that big.
