First, drill apart a car for customization.

Use Rustoleum Flat Red Primer on the body of the car. The original paint doesn't need to be stripped or completely covered as it will make the finishing product look better. The base is also sprayed as well but with a light coat. Rustoleum Flat Grey Primer is lightly used on the windows to give a dusty look. The primers dry very fast and are found at Home Depot.

Next, spray a mist coat of grey primer onto the body. This provides a more realistic texture to the rust.

The final coat for the body is a light coat of red primer. No clear coat is needed as it will remove the rust texture from the car.

There's something to be said about cars that are fast but don't look it...this will get you one step closer, great job!
