also just to twist the "modding" knife, I drilled the rivets, then snipped the perfectly good rolling axles and wheels off of [4] $0.50 Johnny Lightnings and then stuffed the wheelless carcasses into the box with FOTF's returns...Miss Spanklet will have to hold her breath till they get all the way back to Connetycoot !

You had me scared there for a second--I saw "FOTF" further down the post, and started to read something about snipping the axles out of a JL...
Thanks, Smitty--I don't have many good JL axles (that aren't attached to cars)--maybe I'll have better luck modding with them than I have so far with HWs.
you read it right, I snipped off the perfectly good J.L. axles and threw them away, I wanted you to be able to modd the [4] cars without guilt, I did leave the wheels on the garbage truck though... rivets drilled and axle-less ;
gold '71mustang, white '68 cougar, green/black '73 t bird and white '60s lincoln continental...
all had fair paint... ready for you to modd or strip and re-paint... careful, johnny lightning's glass is very brittle...
