Is this still one team per entry or was it increased to two?  With a combined weight restriction and separate class overall winners, doesn't multiple teams kind of negate the weight restrictions?

My 2ยข worth.

  • Still just one team per person...for that very reason! :) — 72_Chevy_C10

We are three weeks away from this one...with some holidays in the middle. So, I hope everyone can send some time in the shop and get their cars sent out (after Christmas is probably best). I'm looking forward to seeing the builds for this one!

Hello all,

This is my first post. Was a Hot Wheels fanatic as a kid, my daughter and son just started playing with them and I'm chomping at the bit to start racing.

Was reading this thread and looking through the one box of my old collection that I recently dug out of storage.

Here's a link to a cop and robber pair:

And here's a pair of candidates for Vans and Winged Wondershttp://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr4/ryan_fisher4/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps39wxpn8t.jpeg

Only trouble is I've never cracked open a car before. Do these look like good candidates for starting?

Chopper

  • WELCOME CHOPPER!! While I can't see the photo, I'm sure it's gotta be a good start! — CrzyTrkrDude
  • Thank you, CTD. I think once I drill through my first rivet, I'll be okay. Right now, it's hard to take a drill to a cherished object. — Chopper
  • welcome aboard... look good from here — fordman
  • the newer Fire Chief(?) Supervans are kinda common nowadays, if that ( rather nice super chrome) van means a lot to you... — CrzyTrkrDude

Hey Chopper,

There's a lot of info on this site about modding cars...just do a little exploring. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask!

  • Thanks! I've been reading the mod info and it's great. Need to set up a workshop and get one of those jigs! — Chopper
  • Also, I accidentally flagged this post as SPAM when looking for the comment button. Sorry. I'm such a rookie. — Chopper
  • if I had a hot wheel for every time I accidently hit report.. wait, I do... lol. forgiven — CrzyTrkrDude

Oh, and be sure to check the rules if you are working on your cars over the holiday weekend. The weight rule is a little different for this one...90 grams total for the two cars!

There was an old Hot Rod story where they took a car and kept cutting parts off to make the power to weight ratio better each run.  It'd be a fun option to do with one of Fordman's overweight entries.  Good possibility to see his chassis and interior beating other cars down the track.

  • got a buddy raced at sanford, drained the gear oil from the tranny and rear for the finals [weight] — fordman
  • yowch! — CrzyTrkrDude
  • Guys do that with their tractors too...12 gallons of gear oil weighs quite a bit — 72_Chevy_C10

Hey Iswingping,

If you watch the youtube show, Roadkill, they take a Corvette C5 and strip it down and put a roll cage in it. And they make it pretty quick! If you don't know Roadkill, it's pretty awesome!

c10,

both my cars are glued together with lock-tite, stik n' seal [ indoor]... strong but flexible, if c10 wants to pry off a body and remove the lead to get them legal that would be cool here...

  • Okay, I'll see what I can do for ya, Smitty — 72_Chevy_C10
