Dixie Gran Prix 3
Flash drive??? Or should I call it wheel swap!
So my coming out mod party was going to be muscle mania. I got froggy just now and took an Indy 500 oval apart. Yeah! Oh yeah! Wrong choice! Looks like 4 tires and fuel only for ole girl! I don't see any room for weight on this ride.
50g and Reigning Champ
Are entries for this race still open? Also, can any open wheel car enter if it meets the requirements? I was thinking of entering Lakester.
How about a Matchbox Formula Racer???
For some reason I thought the Jet Threat was eligible but now I'm re-checking the list and it's not there? Can it be raced?
Thanks!
- Looks like the Jet Threat is one of those models with lots of versions, and my guess is some will be eligible and some won't. Which version do you mean? — MrFishyFish
This one.

To modify or not to modify? That is the question.
I got my scale today, so I broke out my DGP cars. Both of my primary cars weigh in at 48.8+ grams. Both have good set of tires. So being new to modding is it worth the risk of messing up the handling of two great cars for 1 gram?
- Maybe just plat with the wheels to make sure they run smoothe... Good is never enough — SavageSpeeder
- I hear ya on that. — CrazyEights
- No — LeagueofSpeed
Now that the Vans are sent away for Nick of Time, it's time to get back into completing all the builds I started for this event....
Then set up a test track and pick and fine tune something that will run ok. Time is ticking for me!
Cheers
Dixie Gran Prix has been moved back one(1) week until Sept 26th...so ya gotta extra week in the Workshop...Good Luck
- Lol! I just ran mine this morning when I ran my RLD cars for MDGs. — CrazyEights
- Great! I will be able to do a bit more testing and complete another car for choice. — CutRock_R_Marc_D
I do have a question. What is the best way to pack open wheel cars so they don't get bent axles during shipping. I've been using the D64 method with peanuts and bubble wrap. Unfortunately those cars have fenders to protect the wheels. Indy cars don't.
- secured in a plastic container they should be fine and a box big enough for a packing peanut cocoon — LeagueofSpeed
- okay. thankya sir — CrazyEights
Okay, last question: there are 2 classes, stock and modified and each team consists of 2 cars.
Does each racer send a team of 2 cars of either stock, modified or 1 of each or can a racer send 2 teams with 2 of each class? And does each team require a different name...
