I like it! This is going to be a lot of fun!

So what do the little dudes in the corner of some of the car pics represent?

I really like how you put the points in the images! It makes it really
easy for us to understand where out points came from.

I tought that more than one person was going to be able to pick
a certain racer for their garage. I went to pick a couple and they
were not available. This is going to create an inequality for those
who don't get to the garage in a timely manner.

I think that these two bonuses are weighted too heavily. Judging by
the points from the first race, the average contestant gets a couple
hundred points from successful picks in head-to-head matches. Having
the ultimate winner in your stable is worth as much as your total effort
in picks. It should be a bonus, not a whollop.

Your entered cars wins the tournament 200
Perfect bracket picked 250

I agree with Markkaz, having the winning car picked puts you a whole race ahead of those behind. If you had both winning car and perfect bracket you are now 2 races worth of points ahead of people.

I wouldnt think that if you gained all of the bonuses on one race that it would be equal to the total points possible from the normal bracket.

just my opinion, Im good either way

Thanks for the feedback. The entered car bonus can certainly be changed if it feels to weighty, I have no problems with that. I want bulk of the points to come from bracket picks anyway. So what's a fair value for the entered car win bonus? 50 points?

But Mark is correct, the entering of cars is intended for those that can make the time range. Although, that's also why I have 2 or 3 days between opening and voting, to give people a chance to enter if they can. I know it's still a beta, but I still have doubts if 16 people will actually submit cars in the first place. That would be a good problem to have, just saying...

And my bad for not putting more explanation on the page about the little icons. I'll be sure to add that for the final. But the little dude icon denotes that the car shown was entered by a player and is not just a random filler pick. Also, click the little info icon (blue circle) should slide open a thingy that shows the car name, rating, and player (when applicable).

Otherwise, glad to hear everyone enjoys how it works and plays out. Give me your thoughts on points and it can be adjusted.

I changed the bonus for having your entered car win to 50 points from 200. When this next mock tournament is raced we'll see what type of impact it has. I think 50 seems fair, no? It gives you a little something if you made efforts to be one of the 16 racers, but doesn't completely burn you if you don't...remember, you still need to make good bracket picks to earn points.

I think 50 bonus points for entering the winning car is reasonable. I really do want to see a more competitive league this time around where more than just a few players are vying for the lead. Winning the first one was a little bit too easy
Just kidding!!

I feel that 50 points is better. Let's see how this plays out.

What does the L/R stand for on the titles on the rankings page?

"Rank - LR - Player - Points "

The L/R was "Last Ranking", showing your previous rank and whether you went up or down.

However, I'm thinking I might remove this because there is not regular time when rankings are recalculated. Any time a new player joins the rankings are built so they end up where they should on the list. It sounded like a good idea, and it would be if rankings were only released every week or something, but this is probably something I'll remove before any official tournaments.

I'll be posting second mock tournament results tonight (Wednesday) and then again on Sunday. So far everything is going well from what I can see.

Does anyone have anything major to report as far as problems they've had or have noticed?

If all seems well to everyone, I think the second season of the fantasy league can officially open on August 1st!

That'll give me a week to reset all the data, categorize cars, and create a few achievements. Entry for the first race will be August 1st with the first tournament on the 8th. And with a second tournament opening on that Wednesday...I think I can juggle two setups a week with a tournament every Wed and Sun. At least that's what I'll shoot for.

Thanks for helping me test during the past week. Pretty smooth overall this time from what I can tell.

Not too big of a deal, but when I was asked to enter a car in the third beta tournament, cars that had already been entered still had the 'enter this car' link above them which made it seem they were still available. I would click on the link and nothing happened (cause they were already spoken for I suppose). I clicked on several of the cars I would have liked to enter and eventually one of the 'enter this car' links worked and another window opened to confirm my choice. Is there any way to signify the cars that were no longer available ridding them of the 'enter this car' link so I would know they were spoken for and not suffer the 'ugly guy asks cute girl to the dance rejection' experience over and over

I was looking at the cars entered in the race next Wednesday, and a lot of them already had their first round bracket for the upcoming race won or lost. Eg. http://www.redlinederby.com/beta/thelot.php?car=216 . I dunno, that just struck me as kind of odd...
