Thanks for the reports. I'll look into both.
@redhead - The reason you're seeing "pre-race" results is because that history table is looking at the race record without any results, so it sets one to win and one to loss since it doesn't have a true answer. Good spy, I would have missed that!
Quick beta change that the mock tournament that was gonna happen Sunday will now happen Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. I need to take the beta offline this weekend so I can work on getting it ready for August. I think the game is pretty stable at this point, so no need to delay progress.
Following Saturday's completion of the third mock tournament, I'm confident enough with things to move forward and the official season underway!
So, the beta is not officially over and I'll be working to migrate the beta into production so we can all finally get to some real racing and real points.
Like with the beta, your previous League accounts will remain active but your stats will be reset back to the first season numbers. Same with cars. They will all be returned to their end of season one numbers.
I'll send out another mail and post on the Facebook when the live version of the game is ready to play. I'll be making lots of updates to promote it and with a little bit of luck, a new blog design will be rolled out in conjunction with the new season.
I want to thank all you guys that played in the beta and shared your feedback. It all went to helping make the final product a little better and we'll all benefit from it. I'm really looking forward to this season of racing. I think the tournament model is solid and I think we've upped the amount of racing to a point where there will always be a tournament and cars to play with.
I'm still shooting for August 1st, but we'll see how this week goes. Might take another week to make all the necessary updates and move files. Anyhoo...more real soon!!
Yes, it looks and works very well!
I have a suggestion for emails and repeat visits to the website. When you send out
the email results, it would be nice to have the next brackets ready to go and a link
to that race in the email. This way you have a perpetual loop.
If you don't put up the races until a few days later, I as well as others are likely to
I like this idea. Not having to worry about getting busy and missing out on a race entry would be good.
Good idea. Should be possible as long as I schedule far enough ahead of time. And frankly, since my goal is two a week, that shouldn't be an issue. I'm trying to schedule the races and entries for the same day so I can get everything done at once, because I'm sure *I'll* forget until it gets routine.
hmm.........Is it just me or does the Fantasy League 2.0 Beta website return a 404 error? Is the beta over, is that why?
Edit: I guess I should have read a little more. Beta down for the weekend, so I guess it's still down?
Yes, beta is down and in the middle of getting prepared for the real deal. Now that it's Wednesday the new season won't open until NEXT Sunday. Sorry guys, I know it's taken me longer than I originally said. Stupid real life...bahumbug ;P
Yeah, real life. Always messing up my fantasy world. But what ya gonna do?
Yes, fantasy is good! It's kinda like the "spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down!" Sorry!!
I got a 403 forbidden error when I tried to follow your link. It said I don't have permission.
What's changed from the one we use now? Is it really that much different? (Most of the features seem to be already implemented)
Ummm...the beta period for the league was last July, it's no longer valid. Just use the "Go to Fantasy League" link at the top of this page (very top).
This thread isn't for a new beta, it's for the old beta. The beta for *this* season. Sorry if you got confused.
