Finding Myself Lost

iBMikey Monday, 1/21/2013

Okay, so it's safe to say that I'm new to the site as well as Hot Wheels racing (unless you count racing them on your kitchen floor way back when). Basically, I'm having some questions pop up over the Mail In Tournaments, Car Weight, Etc. So I'll ask in a list form to hopefully cut down on useless rambling.

1. When sending in your car for a Mail In Tourney, you do get your car back right (ignorant question I'm assuming )?
2. What's the best way to weigh your car to follow guidelines?
3. Is there any limitations to what car you use?

I'm sure I'll think of some more. I'm really wanting to dig into this as I am really excited and know I'm going to get my *CENSORED* handed too me.

Also, I had a few ideas about doing more than just tournaments and was curious about who I send them too. Thanks for all the help!

Edit: And the whole Teams thing. How does that work? I'm a Team Guy.

3. Is there any limitations to what car you use?

3. There's usually some kind of theme to the mail in races. The rules are usually discussed then formally post ed in a new thread for that event.

There is a mail in race coming up in Feb. Below is a link to the thread in the Mail in forum. The rules for this particular race are in the first post. Check it out and I think you'll get the general idea.

Awesome... I would have never guessed their would be this much to racing Hot Wheels cars. Keeps my mind busy.

I too am new here, a month or so. In my limited experience..., mey best advice is:
1. Slow down and read, there is a ton of info on this site. A little research will yield the answers you seek.
2. Buy some track, for side by side testing, toys R us has it for $1 a section with the connector.
3. Buy a small food scale, or use the one at the local post office....it's free
4. Watch videos, and look at past series for what cars, and who is performing well.
5. Build hot rods.....ok this might not help, but I like seeing new creations.

Best of luck, and welcome!

A team here isn't necessarily a collection of people, more so the collection of cars you own. So my team is WorpeX Racing which is just my collection of cars and well... me.

Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay!

Heck yeah! I'm really excited now. Going to start some Weight Reduction/ Paint Strip on my RX-7 tomorrow. I did pick me up a 6 Piece Set of Needle Files that I feel will come is handy at some point. I'll post pictures once I get them down to Non-Gigantic size.
