super glue can run and can ruin a good car quick... leave a little over a gram for the glue's weight...
Lower and farther back works best (be careful of the axles!)
Most glues other than JB weld will not register any weight gain, on your scale you might pick of a hundredth though!
I was watching some pinewood derby videos where they were talking about what they did to make their cars faster. I saw where the weight needed to be near the back but without taking more time to figure things out and do some cutting, the only place to put it is in the inside on the roof for now. Not going to be very sightly but it will have to do for now. Cars need to get in the mail asap.
Still running behind...good thing the limit was set at 3!
I picked 3 out of the 6 cars to finish - no body paint this series.
'62 Corvette - build parts trimmed, cut and dechromed
Chrysler 300 - build parts trimmed, cut and dechromed
Had to leave one almost stock - swapped out wheels, chassis, and dechromed engine and interior though.
Mock ups of 3 primary builds for the race and the left overs for another day!
Milton, good looking rides, the scrap heap is promising as well.... Lots of work on the vette chassis...
WHEEL HOGGING: I use my dremel and the following bits. The large drum is just about right for med large wheels and the small can touch up the little openings. as Smitty would say: Safety 1st, goggles etc. and this method heats the casting up quick...a glove is a good idea..I have plenty of tiny burns to prove this point

Went out to work on adding weight to the car. Didn't realize just how much size wise, the weight would have to be to get it up to the limit. Here is what I have with nothing glued together yet.
Any guess if gluing together will put me over the limit on either car? I have a chunk of lead inside each car that I was just going to super glue to the inside of the roof. Is this how you guys do it? I would like to get these in the mail tomorrow. I feel like I have just slapped some stuff together but hopefully next time I will have a little more time and can do a little better job.
