GO Pro Hero 4

Hi GNR Vintage Racing here.  I was wondering if its better to buy 3 Used Go Pro Hero 4s or one more modern go Pro.  I have a deal on the Go Pro 4s and they are brand new. My question is, is the quality up to par, can I get rid of the fish eye look and will it be crisp. I don't have a go pro, been using an iphone for doing the races. I would like at least the same quality as the iphone and i really need a clear shot at the finish line.

Thoughts please,  as have seen some amazing crisp camera work .. i would like to step up a bit an i am hoping a go pro 4 is capable of doing so.  I would like the cars not to look blurry and no fish eye views.

thanks in advance.

I have 2x Hero 4's and they are fine. You get 120fps and manual control of shutter speed etc. I use them for Kayem corner cam and jump cam (both static cams and the cars pass by quickly and they still look ok) and have no issues with them at all.

The fish eye is based on the camera setting (wide) but you can change that (to narrow) for a more 'normal' look, just keep in mind you have a tighter field of view.

Download the GoPro app on your iPhone/Samsung and you can see what the camera is looking at etc which is great for setting the camera up to catch the angles you want

If you set the cams up and find the cars still look blurry as they pass, with the cam set to 120fps, just make the shutter speed faster - just keep in mind you'll need more light the faster the shutter/frame rate as there is less time for light to get into the cameras sensor.

happy to answer any questions once you get them.
