Just to clarify something that came up in a discussion with another GTR fan.... "No “Frankenstein" builds, Fantasy, Tooned, or Concept castings allowed"

Does that take the 8 Crate, Cruise Bruiser and Mini vans out of contention?

All opinions accepted and I do like a good argument so I'll say that the Jack Hammer is a contender....just for a fun discussion :)

  • If I recall correctly, the 8 Crate and Cruise Bruiser are not (or were not) production station wagons, so they don't qualify. I'm not familiar with the Jack Hammer. Hopefully, my first statement covers that one. The question about minivans is interesting. Since the spirit of this competition is to race a true station wagon, minivans are out. Someone asked about the VW squareback. Wiki points to it as a production vehicle and a station wagon. The mini Cooper Countryman is apparently a station wagon, so I'll allow it. — GravityThrottleRacing
  • 8 Crate is billed as a “customized ‘55 Ford Ranch wagon”. Cruise Bruiser and Jack Hammer are Hot Wheels originals (fantasy). — Ruckus_Racing
  • Okay, Mike, I agree with Ruckus on this. The 8 Crate is a '55 Ford Ranch wagon, so I will accept it. I'm learning! — GravityThrottleRacing
  • Mini Countryman station wagon...OK, not quite a classic mini but I'll swallow my pride and see how it turns out on the Home test track. And the 8crate is a very cool casting but may be a little low for the track, especially the Scrambler. — EnZedRacing

Would the Chevy nova wagon gasser be eligible considering it's just a variation of a nova wagon?

  • Okay, I know which one you're talking about. Because it's a variation on a production station wagon, I will accept it. — GravityThrottleRacing
  • Thanks just wanted to confirm before I attempted to mod one — Kingjester

  • Love that 5-pack. Yes, all those are production wagons. I welcome all brands. I understand you're gonna want plastic HWs tires for speed. Personally, I hope to see all those wagons on the track.. — GravityThrottleRacing
  • thats great! I love the multipaks with themes, that was a walgreens find. This weekend I hope to help my 10 yr old grandson become a member, and he will build and send a car out of that pack, too. — dr_dodge
  • He helped me run our family fun races as launcher/announcer. he can edit, too!! modern 10 year olds...lol. He is turning all his buddy's on to this stuff, and they think it's cool. Makes me feel good I have a way to connect, as many of y'all with kids do. they keep you young (and tired) — dr_dodge
  • Sounds like you're a pretty cool grandpa! — GravityThrottleRacing
  • I love that '71 Vista Cruiser, especially with that paint scheme! — LobotomyScam
  • yea, that one goes on the shelf — dr_dodge
  • Thats a great 5 pack mate! Wish that one showed up at my local store! — Stoopid_Fish_Racing

Ruckus would like to return.  Looks like Jonny's go to #6 got snagged.  Let's go with 41 for now.  I might request a change once I shop decals.

  • Switch to number 8 please. I have a sheet of single digit numbers and that appears to be the last available. — Ruckus_Racing
  • Got you for 8 (which I consider different than 08) — GravityThrottleRacing

Just wanted a check on a car: The Chrysler Pacifica. As i understand a wagon, it's generally "4 doors, a significant cargo area, and a hatchback", of which the Pacifica checks all boxes. The "issue" is that Hotwheels only has an offroad version. Would that be allowed in the same way the Chevy Nova Gasser is (Modified production car, but stock Hotwheels car)?

Would it make a difference if i were to "undo" some of their modifications, and bring it back toward its stock appearance in real life?

Either way: I'll take #81, i'm in!

  • It's a great question. I have one of those Hotwheels, so I understand what you mean about de-modifying it. Since the Pacifica is classified (in real life) as a minivan, I'm gonna say no. But please don't hesitate to ask again about anything else. -Mark H. — GravityThrottleRacing
  • Super fair! In 2004 (my reference) it was a wagon, but in 2016 (my casting), it's listed as a minivan. But don't worry, i have confirmed wagons in my stables! Thanks! — Beeks
