GTR BRAGGIN' WAGON
This will be my first race! I hope I can atleast put up a fight!
With that though I have one question, "Retail axles and wheels only" does that mean no fte on non fte casting?(new to all this)
Team: Animal Party Racing
Racer name: RedPanduh
#:100
- No worries... Great question. FTEs are okay. You're not limited to the original axles and wheels. However, you aren't allowed to bore out the wheel wells for larger FTEs to fit. As long as the FTEs or whatever wheels you choose have clearance in the original casting, you're good to go! Does that make sense? -Mark H. — GravityThrottleRacing
- That makes absolute sense, thank you! — RedPanduh
- Would a Nissan maxima drift car work? It's a real life production maxima station wagon. I can cover the engine and give it clearance. — RedPanduh
- FYI - Mark made a couple of "How to" videos on suspension and weight distribution you should check out. And welcome to the funhouse! — FeralPatrick
- so, stub/tube axle ok? the matchbox cars are so narrow, it's a lot easier to bob a chunk out of the middle and glue it back. Is This Legal? — dr_dodge
- @dr_dodge - Yes, the stub/tube axle combo is okay. What you're considering is logical with a narrow matchbox car. The only drawback I can think of is with the wheels themselves. If they are sticking out beyond the wheel well, the spinning wheels will be in contact with the sidewalls around the narrow turns of the joker lane. This will slow it down a bit. — GravityThrottleRacing
Does the Jeep Grand Cherokee qualify?
- Sorry, I'm afraid not. BTW, I've tested jeeps down the Scrambler. You must keep the CG as low as possible. A true station wagon will have that advantage. Also make sure there's some flexibility in the axles. SotB Hot Wheels actually do better down that section than a modified car with the axles cemented to the chassis to the point they're rigid. Hope that helps. -Mark H. — GravityThrottleRacing
G'day Mark, I'm in can I use the number 05?
- Yes, you can. 05 it is. — GravityThrottleRacing
- Thanks Mark, it's a very famous number in this part of the world. — roddinracing
Another question, since the nova wagon gasser has a window that is open in 3 different sections and all weight must be hidden and not visible, would it be alright to fill the windows so that way the weight isn't visible?
- In general, yes. It depends on how you fill the windows. Will it look unrealistic, like spraying that expanding insulation foam in the window? Let me know what you are thinking. Another idea would be to paint the weights black. They may be visible, but they don't stand out... and that would be okay. — GravityThrottleRacing
- I was thinking of putting tin foil in the open windows but if that isn’t acceptable then I’ll paint the weights black — Kingjester
- I recommend starting by painting the weights black. — GravityThrottleRacing
- the 59 chevy is blacked out, I want to put in a custom interior. yes, non-blcckout...lol — dr_dodge
Hi,
Is New Jersey Drive Racing to late to participate? #28
I'm IN! #24
GT Diecast Racing
Here's my entry, a Nissan Maxima Drift car
The only thing I'm worried about is that little lip on the front.
- Hi Gui. Good to hear from you. Glad you're in the tournament. Yes, that lip will be a problem and needs to be trimmed off. If you don't have a way of trimming it, I'm happy to do it for you. Let me know either way. -Mark H. — GravityThrottleRacing
Lily the Dog
team: Lily's Boneyard
#k9
- Alright, Rick! Happy to have Lily racin' again! Tell her she's not allowed to roll over and play dead on the Scrambler. Lol! — GravityThrottleRacing
- boy the number was a surprise...lol — dr_dodge
And so I am ready for this event as my wagon is ready, this nova wagon gasser is definitely a gamble but hey I'm willing to learn what does and doesn't work, 54.3 grams with skinny wheels in the front and back with the wheels being sanded and the axels were polished and graphited. (Also GTR let me know if those weights are to noticeable I painted them black)

- Good job with the weights. Painting them black is all I can ask when space is limited. This entry will be interesting. I have no clue how it'll do either, so we'll learn together! — GravityThrottleRacing
- Love the colour choice mate!! Matte doesn't show the scratches as bad — EnZedRacing
SPARKS RACING, #40, LOBOTOMY; please and thank you, my good sir.
I have been hoping to get a chance to run on your track. I'm IN. #20 please.
- I've been looking forward to having you! I see you at many of the races I watch. Welcome! — GravityThrottleRacing
- Sorry for the change, but could I have #92 instead. A sponsor has recently asked me to put their logo on my wagon and race with the #92. It will be crystal clear why, once you see my build. — GrumpyCloud

Can I have #71
Thanks!
