Help Our Hot Wheels Racing FB Page
I need all the help from the racing family here to help boost our "Hot Wheels Racing" page on Face Book. I am trying to get the word out to as many people as possible. Take a look, and let me know what you think...hey see if you can find the plug I made for the board here...maybe it will help grow awareness for the racing community about Redline Derby.

Just Liked the page. How long has this club been around?
We got started with our first race on January 15th 2012, and really tried to get new racers to come to the event this past summer. We have primarily relied on word of mouth,...in November we mailed out 2,000 race brochures into the community. With the FB page we are trying to become more visible, and provide a place where racers can find information related to the racing sport.

Are there any regulations to the cars you can race in it?
I assume it's an all-stock club.
Having those rules up there or somewhere would be helpful for people wanting to see what it is about.
We took our 50 foot league track to a boy scout day camp thing. Over 250 boy/cub scouts were given a car to race and then a handout about the league. No one showed up after that from the cub scouts, which kind of bummed me out. Maybe next racing season when it starts in February for us, we'll see some kids show up.
Preacher, do you have a k Mart near you? Every February Hot Wheels has a collectors event at almost every kmart and a lot of adult collectors show up. You might hand out some flyers and get some interest.

Here in Canada we do not have K marts at least not on the Island. Sniff, sniff

I guess thats not a bad thing. It's really horrible getting to open cases of fresh Hot Wheels and digging around for T Hunts and new releases and then spending way to much money.....LOL

Right now it is "Open Class" racing...bring anything and we will race it. As the racing continues...and we get racers that are serious, we will set some rules about what class of cars will be allowed to race. The way we keep the racing fair for everyone, is at the end of the race we have a bag, that a random person draws a number 1-3, and that determines our race winner. So if you had the fastest car and blew everyone off the track, but number 3 was pull from the bag...third place would be our winner of the trophy. All racers getting in the 1-3 position win a prize, which normally is a new car. Hope this helps.

Wow, that's an interesting way to do it--with the numbers. So do any of the cars get retired, or go into any kind of Finals?

Yeah...all winning cars cannot race again until the year end championship race, where one car will be crowned the "Grand Poobah" or race champion!

Cool.
Are there points? Also...do you take mail-ins?

Not that fancy...yet. I'm going to do a race real soon...but right now I'm working out a few details that should make this easy for anyone who wants to race at our event.
