Hot Wheel Car Prices

Preacher Friday, 6/1/2012

When I first got into this about 4 months ago prices were at $1.44 a Walmart, now they are at $1.33. I was just in Washington State, and bought some cars at Walmart for .88 cents a car...Kmart was asking $1.09. I've recently been getting a number of cars from thrift stores for .50 cents each...and some .18-25 cents a piece. So what are you paying for cars where you live?

I'm listening,

Washington state: anywhere between $1 and $1.49 in the stores. $1 at my local flea market, but much cheaper at estate sales and garage sales.

Ohio is average $1.09 but often have $.99 sales. A few places go up to $1.29 but things are thankfully still hovering close to a dollar. The biggest problem around me isn't price but selection. From TRU to the grocery store to Walmart, their inventory is massive and old so there's not much turn over.

I live in a town of less than 5000 and I cannot believe the amount of Hot Wheels the local Wal Mart goes thru. Currently they are .88 cents at Wal Mart. There are a couple grocery stores in town and the price jumps around from .99 cents to $1.29. Not including the stuff I had when I was a kid...I started collecting in the early 90's and prices have always been about one dollar in California. Unless it was something special I usually refuse to pay more than 1.00 because you can always find them somewhere for a buck.

Come to think of it, if I see them somewhere for more than $1.29 it makes me mad.

Price doesn't bother me. I've found with hotwheels that if you see a car that you want, and you wait to buy it, you might not ever find it again! So i'll just get what I want regardless of the price. I think they're something like 1.09 around my area though.

SO. Cal - Anaheim area. This past week I have lost my mind and started buying cars again. This is what has piled up. The lose cars in the top right corner were Mystery cars from Walmart. The bottom right BP's are all NOVA! Sorry I can't leave a Nova on the peg.
Target .84
Ralphs 1.49
Toys R Us 1.09
Walgreens 1.49
Walmart .97 the Mst cars 1.07
Kmart .89 and .45 = Buy 1 car and get 2nd car 50% off.
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I noticed this weekend that Walmart was back up to 97 cents from 88.

I found a semi-fresh dump bin Saturday AM, but it was full of cars I already had or didn't want.
