How Stock is Stock?

For stock races, how stock is it? MOC/MISP? Loose but un-modified at all? Wheel sanding is okay/not okay? Unless specified in the entry rules, whatever goes?

For my track, stock has meant out of the wrapping and onto the track.

In the future I will allow some lube but no opening of the car at all. But I guess everyone might have different rules

Generally speaking, stock means a car that is unmodified - not additions or substractions in anyway, however, graphite lube is usually allowed. If the car has drilled pegs, it gets DQ'ed from a stock race. Check out our glossary for more.

From card-to-track like Chaos mentioned is called a Rip-n-Roll race, which I find always fun and easy to host.

But ultimately, it's up to the rules set by the person hosting the race. We've had people take the "it doesn't say you can't, so I can" attitude, and vice versa. I was told long ago never to assume...same goes here.

I will always do " run what you brung ".  No rules on car setup.  But that is just me.

  • I agree except I like realistic cars racing realistic cars and fantasy vs fantasy, as long as a car retains it's intended overall appearance, blacked out windows acceptable, but it's to each their own, if you don't like house rules find another track, everyone is happy! — Foursix
