How to merge 4 lane HotWheels to CrashRacers

theredmoose Saturday, 3/9/2024

I am sure this is likely covered in another thread but I couldn't find anything.

I am looking to merge from 4 hot wheels tracks to the Crash Racers track.  I currently have 3D two 2-to-1 HotWheels Track merging pieces.  However, the cars keep crashing.

Does anyone have other ideas?

I'm figuring your crashing is in the restriction of two cars fighting for a single lane,  where merging from 4 lanes to narrower, but open, lane would let them shuffle for position. No idea if that product exists.

Maybe a 4 lane to Crash Racer width over 12"/30 cm could work. Go 18"/45 cm if you have room for a less abrupt merge.  Coloplast (the plastic cardboard stuff) would be good for figuring it out.  3D print once you like it, or leave it coroplast.

You may want to check with spoolheads or slanman 4 to 2 to see if they make an adapter to do what you are looking for...

I don't believe the old Sizzler track is as wide as 4 orange track pieces side by side, pretty sure thats 3 wide and Crash Racers is even narrower than Sizzler track. So, a 3D printed funnel or man made funnel transitioning from 4 wide to the Crash Racers may be the way to go. Good Luck.

try slowing the cars down before the transition.

even stacking some books under the transition for testing purposes

most of my problems encountered in testing was the cars were going too fast,

and they were only stockers.  Old Jamestown uses ~ 30-40% of the track as level,

Slower cars are also easier to film...lol

  • Good idea, I will try that out. Some of the cars need some speed further down the track. They tend to slow down and then fall off the banking corners. But hte better race cars (track racers type) go pretty fast all the way. — theredmoose
