The Johnny Lightning kids wear helmets. The Hot Wheels kids are way more reckless.

Very cool...taking a step into the past. As a kid I would spend hours looking at the Sear's Christmas Catalog looking at all the toys I wanted...good memories.

Ahhh, yes...the brief vintage years of Johnny Lightning & the Topper Toy Co.. Too bad they fell victim to "cooked books" ....they were located in Elizabethtown, NJ and their products were manufactured 'in-house'. Mattel had already set up production facilities overseas(Hong Kong?) in 1970.

Awesome scans! Man how I wish playsets these days included that much track. If only I had been more 10 years earlier!
