Who: RDR Mail-In Racers
"Beater Burn Out Coast to Coast"
Where: Auburn Maine and Bellingham Washington
Why: I Love to Race!
When: November 10th -Maine and November 17th Washington
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

The Beater:
You must find an old Redline Hot Wheel (1971 or earlier) that you paid less than $20 for (eBay/Flea Market/Estate Sale) -Honor System Gentlemen.
*MUST LOOK LIKE A BEATER -The More Paint Chips the BETTER!
*MUST HAVE EARLY REDLINE WHEELS!!
We would not test the cars beyond a roll test for surprising results

The Tracks: Smitty's Burn Out track (Tried and True) & the new West Coast version where the Burn Out Esses would be at the end of the track as opposed to the beginning.

I have about 1800 cars and none of them are old redlines. I do have lots of beaters that are untouched, except for being played with to death by some 9 year old. (the car,s death not the kid.)... Could these be used?....

beater burnout coast to coast sounds great...
if guys will pay $30 for a BWF marro, a $10 redline seams plausible...
buy one that has a body style you like so you can modd it for another race after the bash !
winner of the coffee table eliminations... tried to align the hot heap wheels ...snapped an axle off !.Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
be carefull ...as only '68 to '71 have white delrin bushings, removeable tires,
'71 to '73 have removeable wheels but with black plastic bushings not the delrin jobs...
'73 and newer redlines have basic wheels with a red line painted on...
if you can see the axle end showing through the outside of the wheel... i would keep shopping !

Most of us are probably going to need some time to find cars.
I only have one redline and it's in extra poor condition, the axles and wheels will need replacing.

Do I clean them up first or go with the musty basement texture?

Yup, some of mine from day 1. Have a few restored and some apart waiting for the works.

Those cars are exactly like what I had in mind! Keep the body rough

I like the pre-71 Redline idea....

This is what we're going with then!

So is this one vote for "AS IS" with no wheel swap?

yes sir....but as said before folks will need some time to find, or buy a racable car

If the November 10th date sticks, that's almost 2 1/2 months.
